LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pink’s Hot Dogs, the iconic Hollywood hot dog stand, is excited to announce its 85th-anniversary celebration, marking over eight decades of serving mouthwatering hot dogs to Angelenos, celebrities, and visitors alike from around the world.
Located on the corner of La Brea & Melrose, designated as "Pink’s Square," they will be celebrating their 85th anniversary from November 8-12, 2024. The five night celebration will feature appearances by celebrities and notable figures, as well as Pink’s signature "Chili Dogs for Charity" program, benefiting local Los Angeles charities.
To mark the milestone, Pink’s will welcome a lineup of Los Angeles celebrities and public figures. LA Mayor Karen Bass will kick off the celebration on November 8, followed by comedian/actor George Lopez on November 10, and comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias on November 11, actor Henry Winkler on November 12, with another celebrity soon to be announced for November 9th. Special appearances will begin at 8:05 p.m. each evening.
As part of the celebration, Pink’s will offer to sell chili dogs for 85 cents for 85 minutes each night at 8:05 p.m starting on November 8th for 5 nights as part of the "Chili Dogs for Charity" program (with a limit of 5 hot dogs per customer). This initiative, close to the hearts of the Pink family, is their way of giving back to the community that has supported them through the decades. Proceeds will benefit local Los Angeles charities. The "Chili Dogs for Charity" program is an extension of Pink’s long-standing commitment to the community. The Pink family—Richard Pink, his wife Gloria, and his sister Beverly—will donate 100% of the gross proceeds from these sales to a different charity each night, with a minimum donation of $5,000 per night.
“We are incredibly grateful to have reached this historic milestone, it’s really the little hot dog stand that could,” said Richard Pink, co-owner of Pink’s Hot Dogs. “From our humble beginnings as a pushcart to becoming a Hollywood landmark, Pink’s has always been about family, community, and delicious hot dogs. This celebration is our way of thanking everyone who has been part of our journey. From the loyal customers who line up daily to the celebrities who have helped make Pink’s a Hollywood landmark. This anniversary is about showing our appreciation to our loyal fans for 85 years of love and support.”
Founded in 1939 by Paul and Betty Pink, Pink’s Hot Dogs started with a simple $50 pushcart and a dream which has grown into a beloved institution, serving over 1,200 hot dogs and 200 hamburgers daily.
