ALISO VIEJO, Calif.--()--indie Semiconductor (Nasdaq: INDI), an automotive solutions innovator, announces that its latest generation iND880 camera video processor system-on-chip (SoC) family continues to secure significant design-win momentum with global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and has now been recognized as “Auto Sensor Innovation of the Year” by AutoTech Breakthrough Awards.

Introduced earlier this year, the iND880 SoC family redefines vision-based Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) capabilities, setting new benchmarks in active sensing performance enabled through indie’s proprietary and patented Image Signal Processor (ISP) technology. By addressing the poor dynamic range, limited low-light performance, and high latency shortcomings of today’s vision processor SoC’s, the iND880 enables automotive OEMs to meet the accelerating active safety mandates of global regulators and new car assessment programs.

“indie’s advanced ISP capabilities enable OEMs to address regulation-driven road safety requirements in challenging environmental scenarios, while enabling the growing consumer demand for increased vehicle automation,” said Abhay Rai, indie’s chief product officer. “By delivering high-dynamic range performance, class-leading low-light capability, and low-latency real-time processing, and eliminating the need for external DRAM, the iND880 family delivers cost-effective ADAS capabilities for OEMs to deploy across their diverse vehicle portfolios. We are extremely pleased that our vision processor innovations have been recognized by AutoTech Breakthrough with this prestigious award.”

The 2024 AutoTech Breakthrough Awards, conducted by AutoTech Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization, recognize the top companies, technologies, and products in the global automotive and transportation technology markets today.

“indie Semiconductor’s iND880 processors address critical challenges in the automotive industry and represent a monumental leap forward in automotive technology. Vision-based sensing is crucial for ADAS due to increasing government regulations, New Car Assessment Programs, and consumer expectations for vehicle safety. However, traditional vision processors have struggled to achieve low-light sensor performance with accurate color reproduction,” said Bryan Vaughn, Managing Director, AutoTech Breakthrough. “indie’s product not only exemplifies technological excellence but also effectively addresses critical industry challenges by enhancing vehicle safety, meeting stringent regulatory requirements, and delivering high-performance ADAS functionalities.”

The iND880 solution was recently showcased at the AutoSens Europe 2024 conference in Barcelona, Spain, and is currently sampling and in advanced development with multiple global OEM and Tier 1 customers, with deployment in vehicles planned in 2025.
