Arctos Expands Insights Team with Three New Hires, Including Barry Griffiths as Senior Advisor

DALLAS--()--Arctos, a private investment firm that provides bespoke growth capital and liquidity solutions, differentiated thought partnership and value creation services to sports franchises (Arctos Sports) and alternative asset managers (Arctos Keystone), is proud to announce the expansion of its Arctos Insights team with three key hires. Barry E. Griffiths, Ph.D., CFA, joins as Senior Advisor, alongside the addition of Om Kanwar as Senior Data Scientist and Deep Patel as Software Engineer.

Mr. Griffiths brings over 25 years of leadership in the innovation and application of quantitative analysis within private markets. In that time, he has pioneered methodologies that link private equity performance with public markets, including the development of the widely recognized “Direct Alpha Method” for benchmarking private equity. Mr. Griffiths’ experience includes roles at Ares Management, Landmark Partners, and Goldman Sachs, coupled with an active involvement in the Private Equity Research Consortium (PERC). In his new role, Mr. Griffiths will support the firm’s research, data science and risk management initiatives across Arctos Insights, further improving the platform’s ability to deliver unique, data-driven insights for the markets that it serves.

“We are thrilled to welcome Barry to the team,” said Ian Charles, co-founder and co-managing partner of Arctos. “His contributions to, and intellectual innovations within, private markets are well known, and his expertise will enhance our ability to deliver differentiated research and risk analysis for our partners and clients. But just as important, Barry is a great friend, teacher and mentor who will benefit everyone here for years to come.”

In addition to Mr. Griffiths, Arctos has expanded its data science and technology capabilities with the hiring of Om Kanwar and Deep Patel. Prior to Arctos, Mr. Kanwar was a part of the financial services technology team at Palantir Technologies, leading projects between Palantir and its financial services clients. Mr. Patel also joins from Palantir where he was an engineering lead developing solutions for mission-critical operations across the government sector. Prior to Palantir, Mr. Patel was a software engineer at The Blackstone Group.

“Om and Deep’s experience applying machine learning across complex organizations will help augment our existing capabilities,” said Zach Baran, director at Arctos. “Adding additional resources to Arctos Insights further underscores the firm’s commitment to data-informed research and innovative technologies, both of which are integral to our investment strategy and value creation processes.”
