BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Droplette, the MIT-born company that is revolutionizing the skincare industry with smart technology, today announces the appointment of beauty industry executive, Jodi Kaplan, as its new CEO. Kaplan brings more than 20 years of strategic executive experience leading global luxury retail, beauty and wholesale brands through a variety of growth stages.
Kaplan joins Droplette from Dr. Barbara Sturm Molecular Cosmetics, where as President, she led the acquisition process to a successful exit. In her previous role as GM of Augustinus Bader Skincare, she was responsible for launching the company in North America and expanding its retail footprint. Kaplan has also held leadership positions at Moda Operandi, Bergdorf Goodman and World Duty Free.
Founded in 2017 by MIT-trained engineers, Madhavi Gavini and Rathi Srinivas, Droplette is a NASA and NIH-supported skincare technology company that revolutionizes the way ingredients are delivered into the skin. Droplette’s potent ingredients are delivered deep in the skin uniquely maximizing their effectiveness to combat a range of skincare issues. Best-selling Collagen Boosting Hydrofiller delivers the lifting effect of injectables, making skin look visibly plump. Packed with advanced peptides to improve firmness and vitamin C, antioxidants and turmeric to keep skin healthy, this formula is a favorite for high performance daily maintenance.
“I was drawn to Droplette’s unique brand promise at the intersection of science, technology and efficacious skincare. The founders have created an innovative, patented microinfuser which allows serum to penetrate the skin barrier and deliver problem solving ingredients deeper than anything else on the market,” said Kaplan. “It is truly exciting to lead this company and have the opportunity to educate consumers on the benefits of this delivery system and the results that they can expect from our exceptional formulas.”
“We are excited for the next chapter of Droplette under Jodi’s leadership,” said Madhavi Gavini. “Jodi shares our vision for revolutionizing at-home skin care with proven, science backed technology and Rathi and I welcome her to the team.”
“Our commitment to pushing the boundaries of science has defined Droplette as a leader in beauty,” said Lori Cashman, Managing Partner, Visible Ventures (Droplette’s lead investor). “With the addition of Jodi to our team, we now have a unique opportunity to combine this strong scientific foundation with her brand expertise and leadership to drive even greater awareness and market expansion.”
