Trailblazing Dietitian Maggie Moon of LUNAVOX Unlimited Partners with Leading Wellness Brands for a Unique Event that Asks the Nation’s Most Influential Nutrition Experts to Pause on Purpose for Total Brain Health

MINNEAPOLIS--()--To showcase the essential role of diet and lifestyle for total brain health, Maggie Moon, MS, RD, Los Angeles-based dietitian and author of a new book, The MIND Diet: 2nd Edition (Simon & Schuster 2024), is partnering with leading wellness brands to introduce a unique event during the world’s largest annual gathering of food and nutrition experts. Attendees will experience the six pillars of brain health firsthand at “Pause on Purpose for Total Brain Health: A Mini-Wellness Retreat.”

“It’s bold to ask the most sought-after dietitians to catch a breath for themselves during our busiest conference of the year,” Moon noted, “but with rising rates of burnout, that’s exactly what we’re doing.”

Moon, co-founder of health communications agency LUNAVOX Unlimited, continued, “This event is a reminder that self-care is not a luxury, but a necessity. There’s never been anything like it at this conference, but we need it, so I made it — and none of it would be possible without the amazing support of top-notch nutrition organizations. I am beyond grateful to them for the opportunity to advance my message on brain health in a room full of the best dietitians in the business.”

“Centrum is thrilled to support this event for nutrition professionals,” said Alpa Shah, U.S. Wellness Medical & Scientific Affairs Lead at Haleon, “and we’re excited to share new research from investigators at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard that makes us all think again about the role of multivitamins for brain health.”

“Results from a meta-analysis published earlier this year of three independent cognition studies, with 5,203 participants, showed that Centrum Silver multivitamins can support cognition and memory in older adults, offering an accessible way to support brain health as you age,” said Shah.

Not only is prioritizing brain health vital for our personal well-being, it supports dietitians’ ability to serve society. The select group of dietitian leaders who will attend this event are experts in translating sound science into sound bites for public benefit. Moon shared, “It serves us all to care for these caregivers, and it’s my privilege to do my small part through this event. My hope is that people will leave feeling replenished and energized.”

The six pillars of brain health established by the Global Council on Brain Health are:

  1. Eat well
  2. Move more
  3. Sleep soundly
  4. Stress less
  5. Engage the brain
  6. Connect with others

Moon created, curated, and will host the “Pause on Purpose for Total Brain Health” retreat. Attendees can expect to be guided through a joyfully crafted journey that includes:

  • Immersive experiences to promote mindfulness and relaxation
  • Structured time to set intentions
  • Hands-on activities to foster creativity
  • Joyful movement to boost energy and vitality
  • Learning new skills from a national memory champion
  • Nourishing connections to create community

“Connections won’t be the only thing we’re nourishing,” said Moon. “We’ll be enjoying a custom chef-driven menu featuring culinary gems, including two of my personal favorites, California prunes and walnuts.”

Centrum, California Prune Board, California Walnuts, Watermelon Board, Sustainable Shrimp Partnership, Ecuador First Class Shrimp, and Health-Ade Kombucha are proud to announce their partnership for this event that will take place on Saturday, October 5th, in Minneapolis.
