Tech Meets Tradition at Techtoberfest presents Investorhaus

Communitech to host a day of learning, pitch competitions and Bavarian-inspired fun

KITCHENER, Ontario--()--Communitech is excited to announce the return of its celebrated event, Techtoberfest presents Investorhaus, on Oct. 10, 2024, at The Walper Hotel in Kitchener from 12 to 6 p.m. The event promises a full day of celebrating innovation, learning opportunities and Bavarian-inspired festivities.

This year’s Techtoberfest will unite the tech community from the Toronto-Waterloo Corridor, including founders, partners, community members, government officials and investors. The event will feature an inspiring fireside chat, panel, engaging breakout sessions and a pitch competition.

“At Communitech, we’re all about building a community of support for those busy building great things and we’re looking forward to a day of learning, networking and celebrating,” said Chris Albinson, CEO of Communitech. “Techtoberfest is one of our most popular events and we’re excited to host this face-to-face gathering that celebrates our community spirit and tradition of uniting everyone in the tech ecosystem.”

This year’s event will include a fireside chat with Peter Vreeswyk, Chief Financial Officer, and Angelo Loberto, Chief Operating Officer of Waterloo-based Magnet Forensics, a global leader in the development of digital investigation software. They will explore the journeys of startups, sharing insights on scaling, initial public offerings (IPOs), fundraising and private equity. Attendees will gain practical advice from their experiences in the tech industry.

The event will also feature a Women of Impact panel focused on investment and women in technology. A pitch competition will also take place, with startups competing for cash prizes in front of a live audience of investors, partners, government officials and the founder community.

Techtoberfest is a celebration that coincides with Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest. Attendees will enjoy a taste of Bavarian culture with food, drinks and musical entertainment featuring Canada’s Polka King, Walter Ostanek.

Techtoberfest is proudly supported by EY, TD, Bonsai Growth, Gowling WLG, Humi, Boast AI, NVP, Stratford Intellectual Property and Waterloo EDC, with additional support from OVHcloud, PCK Intellectual Property and Vidyard as well as community partners The Accelerator Centre, Catalyst Commons, GTAN, MaRS and Velocity.
