Bioscience Association Manitoba Celebrates Global Biotech Week with Special Proclamation Event at the Manitoba Legislature

WINNIPEG, Manitoba--()--In celebration of Global Biotech Week, the Bioscience Association Manitoba (BAM) will host a special event at the Manitoba Legislative Building on September 26, 2024. This event will bring together 80 Manitoba students, industry members, and government officials to witness the proclamation of Global Biotech Week.

Global Biotech Week, held from September 22 – 28, 2024, aims to raise awareness of the vital role biotechnology and bioscience plays in addressing global challenges such as climate change, food security, and human health. This week-long celebration highlights advancements in biotechnology, the growing opportunities in the industry, and Manitoba’s contributions to the global biotech ecosystem.

“Global Biotech Week gives us the opportunity to spotlight Manitoba’s contributions to the biotech sector and the ground-breaking advancements happening right here in our province,” said Andrea Ladouceur, President of BAM. “This week-long celebration of innovation, collaboration, and curiosity will continue to pave our way forward to heal, feed, and fuel our world.”

This morning event will showcase Manitoba’s leadership in biotech innovation and education, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the public sector, academia, and the bioscience industry. As part of the celebration, BAM is excited to inspire the next generation of biotech leaders and connect them with the professionals driving Manitoba’s bioscience advancements.
