Advanced eClinical Training Partners with The Education Fund to Expand Educational Opportunities for Healthcare Workers

This collaboration provides union healthcare workers with access to high-demand Allied Health certifications through short-term online and blended programs.

NEW YORK--()--Advanced eClinical Training (ACT), a leader in online career certification training, has teamed up with the SEIU-UHW West & Joint Employer Education Fund (The Education Fund), an employer-paid benefit that provides education, training, and career advice services to union members across the healthcare sector. This partnership will expand access to short-term Allied Health training programs, helping eligible healthcare workers obtain the certifications needed for in-demand roles like Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, and Sterile Processing Technician.

“Partnering with The Education Fund allows us to make a real impact on the careers of thousands of healthcare professionals,” said Shabnam Safarzadeh, President and CEO of ACT. “Together, we’re creating pathways for healthcare workers to advance their skills, increase earning potential, and fill critical gaps in today’s healthcare workforce.”

Through this collaboration, more than 100,000 eligible union members will have access to ACT’s short-term, online, and blended learning programs. These programs are designed to meet the needs of a rapidly changing healthcare industry, preparing workers for high-demand certifications in as little as 3-6 months. The partnership will help learners acquire the skills necessary to pursue family-sustaining, high-wage careers in healthcare.

Supporting Career Advancement in Allied Health

The Education Fund is supported by collectively bargained employer contributions and is designed to offer healthcare union members education and training services at no cost. Union members can access programs that help them transition into new roles, gain continuing education units (CEUs), or receive guidance on advancing their careers. With an emphasis on equity and inclusion, nearly 70% of The Education Fund’s learners are people of color, and 80% are women.

“We’re thrilled to partner with ACT to provide our members with new opportunities to advance their careers,” said the director of strategic partnerships for The Education Fund. “Our collaboration aligns with our mission to deliver cutting-edge training solutions that meet the needs of our diverse healthcare workforce, ensuring they have the skills necessary to thrive in today’s healthcare environment.”

Expanding Access to Critical Allied Health Training

ACT’s hands-on training courses in healthcare fields prepare students for in-demand national certifications. More than 1,000 organizations, including CVS Pharmacy, DaVita Dialysis, Concentra Clinics, and the American Red Cross, have hired ACT graduates or offer training and employment opportunities for students and employees. The partnership with The Education Fund further strengthens the accessibility of these career-changing programs for healthcare workers across the nation.
