Citation Canada Unveils All-in-One Health and Safety Platform to Combat Workplace Injuries

The innovative solution includes inspections, risk management tools, training and legislative updates

TORONTO--()--According to the Association of Workers' Compensation Boards of Canada’s (AWCBC) 2024 data1, there were 348,747 workplace injuries or diseases sustained in 2022. These workplace injuries are estimated to cost Canadian businesses an average of $40,000-$50,000 per claim (AWCBC2).

Appropriately dealing with workplace injuries and the costs associated with them is a challenge for many business owners and leaders, which is why today, Citation Canada announced the launch of its new health and safety product. The product offers a suite of connected services to help organizations manage occupational health and safety and protect workers, expanding Citation Canada’s offering beyond the industry-leading HR services it already provides to the thousands of Canadian businesses it supports.

Each service within the new product was designed to help businesses prevent workplace injuries, and fatalities, which can cost businesses from $500,000 to several million dollars3 between direct fines, legal fees, lost productivity and long-term reputational damage. The extensive suite of health and safety services includes an unlimited advice line, safety policy manual and documentation creation, risk assessment tool and templates, incident and accident logs, safe operating procedures, WHMIS inventory, training courses, task management, legislative alerts and more.

“We’re thrilled to offer a robust health and safety service, which helps organizations establish proactive compliance measures that reflect the latest legislation, and create a safe working environment for everyone,” said Terra Aartsen, Chief Product Officer at Citation Canada. Brian Greer, Director of Health and Safety at Citation Canada, adds, “Our tailored services are built to suit a range of needs; they help ensure organizations conduct regular health and safety inspections, provide adequate employee training, and maintain up-to-date safety equipment and protocols—all of which are vital for protecting Canadian workers and businesses.”

Citation Canada will also offer on-site health and safety inspections to organizations within the Windsor-Peterborough corridor, with plans to expand its on-site offerings across Canada in the years to come. Those outside of this region will have access to virtual inspections and advice.
