DENVER--()--Strive Health, the national leader in value-based kidney care, today announced it now serves people with kidney disease in all 50 states. The company’s expanded reach comes on the heels of many successes this year, including strong clinical results, enhanced patient satisfaction, patient growth, new partnerships and industry recognition.

“Strive’s strong momentum highlights that the compassionate, specialty value-based care our team provides is the future of this industry,” said Chris Riopelle, Strive’s Co-Founder and CEO. “The team works tenaciously to put people with kidney disease first and improve outcomes. Our progress propels us further toward our goal of transforming kidney care in this country.”

Strive now serves over 121,000 people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage kidney disease. Strive is partnered with over 6,500 providers nationwide. By the end of 2024, Strive will have nearly tripled its number of engaged patients year over year.

Beyond these achievements, the company saw success in the following areas:

  • Partnership momentum: So far this year, Strive announced an expansion with Humana plus added new partnerships, including those with Aetna, a CVS Health company and Medical Mutual of Ohio.
  • Clinical results: “We’ve seen impressive results with patients who have benefited from personalized, one-on-one care interactions,” said Amit Kapoor, M.D., Chief Nephrologist at Strive. According to Kapoor, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) is one of the most accurate indicators of kidney function. There’s a clinically validated association between 40% eGFR decline over one year and subsequent kidney failure and increased mortality, he said. Strive’s programs show a 50% reduction in the percentage of patients with at least 40% eGFR decline. In other words, patients who work with the Strive clinical team experience a slower decline in their kidney function. Strive’s approach to value-based kidney care has also led to a:
    • 77% increase in home dialysis adoption, which has shown to produce better clinical results than in-center dialysis because it allows patients to do treatments more frequently and on their own schedules
    • 58% optimal start rate where patients have a dialysis access placed before they begin treatment
    • 49% reduction in hospitalizations
  • Patient satisfaction: Strive achieved 94% overall patient satisfaction with Strive’s staff, according to Strive’s most recent patient satisfaction survey.
  • Executive hiring: In August, Orin McIntosh joined Strive as Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, McIntosh served as the National CFO, Medicare Advantage at Aetna, a CVS Health company. McIntosh is based in Illinois.
  • Industry recognition: Strive was honored with gold-level recognition in the American Heart Association’s 2024 Well-being Works Better™ Scorecard for promoting a healthy work culture. Additionally, Strive was named a Built In 2024 Best Place to Work, a Forbes Best Startup Employer for a third consecutive year and a 2024 Healthiest Employer of Colorado, ranking third among companies with 150-1,499 employees. This brings Strive’s total number of workplace awards to nine.
  • Advocacy: Strive joined the Health Care Transformation Task Force to accelerate the pace of transformation to a healthcare delivery system that achieves equitable outcomes through high-quality, affordable and whole-person-centered care.
