MURFREESBORO, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Middle Tennessee Pharmacy Services (MTPS), a member of Guardian Pharmacy Services, one of the nation’s largest and most innovative long-term care (LTC) pharmacy companies, today announced the acquisition of the long-standing LTC and MEDIpack service lines from TwelveStone Health Partners, a leading provider of comprehensive chronic care medication services. The deal will enable MTPS to better serve residents in assisted living, skilled nursing, and behavioral health communities, as well as individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and outpatient consumers throughout Tennessee, Southern Kentucky and Northern Alabama.
Russ Spivey and David Brown co-founded Shelbyville-based MTPS in 2005 and have steadily increased their footprint over the past 19 years through the 2012 opening of Guardian Mid-South Pharmacy in Memphis and the 2013 launch of East Tennessee Pharmacy Services in Knoxville. This latest expansion will increase their total customer base by 17%. The newly acquired pharmacy, located in Murfreesboro, will continue to operate as TwelveStone, serving its existing LTC customers and their residents. All 34 TwelveStone employees will join the MTPS team.

The acquisition comes at a time when TwelveStone is narrowing focus on their rapidly growing infusion service business including 21 infusion centers in the southeastern US across Georgia, Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee.
