Cody Johnson Expands Support of Special Olympics Texas After Serving on Advisory Board of Texas East Region, Area 4 for 5 Years

Johnson will also chair the Coca-Cola Golf Tournament in The Woodlands and sponsor the 2nd Annual Gulf Coast Area Golf Tournament, benefiting local Special Olympics athletes.

As the chair of the Special Olympics annual golf tournament in The Woodlands and a sponsor of the Gulf Coast Area tournament, Johnson proudly supports Special Olympics athletes in their competitions throughout the year. The funds raised at the 2nd annual Gulf Coast Area Golf tournament will support the more than 3,000 athletes in the area. The Coca-Cola Golf Tournament is sponsored by PSCI and supports year-round training and competition for more than 10,000 Greater Houston athletes.

The Coca-Cola Golf Tournament will be held on November 4, 2024, at The Woodlands Country Club. The 2nd Annual Gulf Coast Golf Tournament will be held on Oct. 21 at the South Shore Harbour Country Club in League City, Texas. Registration for the Coca-Cola and Gulf Coast Area tournaments is now open, and sponsorships are still available.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Special Olympics Texas is a year-round movement that holds more than 300 competitions annually at the area, regional, and state levels.
