LOS ANGELES--()--Julian Lennon, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, releases a reimagined version of his fan favorite, “I Should Have Known,” now available to stream on Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube. This track emerges from the perspective of an artist whose dreams of life and love are darkened by those in whom he sincerely trusted.

Mixed by acclaimed engineer and producer Mark “Spike” Stent, the track features an introspective Lennon, expressing the bitter taste of betrayal, as experienced throughout his life, in love and business. The strength in Lennon’s voice on the updated track communicates his resilience despite such heartbreaks. The intricate musical accompaniment further demonstrates his enduring gift for arrangement.

"The reason I decided to re-release and remix 'I Should Have Known' is because it was always a favourite of mine,” says Lennon. “I loved the way the new album ['Jude'] sounded in particular. (...) I thought maybe Mark 'Spike' Stent will remix this for me and give it a new life. I want it to breathe life into the world again."

Alongside the release, Lennon appears in a music video for the first time in over a decade for an original song, under the direction of Anna Makovchik, capturing his soul's journey in a calm and peaceful environment. The visual representation reveals the profound essence of “I Should Have Known,” showcasing a poignant journey of self-discovery and emotional growth.

About Julian Lennon

Born in Liverpool, England, Julian Lennon began his artistic trajectory at a young age with an inherent gift for playing musical instruments. Those abilities would soon broaden into the cinematic and visual arts. As an observer of life in all its forms, Julian developed his personal expression through such mediums as music, documentary filmmaking, philanthropy and fine art photography.

Julian's musical melding of uplifting introspection and thoughtful social commentary with refined hooks has made for a compelling seven-album body of work. His debut, Valotte (Atlantic), yielded two top ten hits—the title track and "Too Late for Goodbyes"—he was also nominated for a Grammy for Best New Artist. He went on to have #1 singles on the U.S. album rock charts. Internationally, one of his most popular songs, "Saltwater" charted successfully around the world, topping in Australia for four weeks and reaching #6 in the U.K. In 2022, he returned with the critically acclaimed album, Jude (BMG), his first commercial release in over a decade.
