Gulf States Toyota Adds Automotive Industry Veteran Jeff Buchanan to its Leadership Team

HOUSTON--()--Gulf States Toyota (GST), one of the largest distributors of Toyota vehicles and parts in the world – with a network of 156 Toyota dealerships across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana – announced today the addition of Jeff Buchanan to its leadership team. Buchanan, a seasoned automotive industry professional, will assume the role of Senior Vice President of Strategy, Talent and Culture on September 3, 2024.

In his new position, Buchanan will be instrumental in driving innovation and enhancing GST’s tech-forward strategy. He will lead transformative efforts to optimize the organization’s operations and adapt processes to align with this strategic vision.

Buchanan comes to GST from Toyota Motor North America, Inc. (TMNA), where he was the Vice President of Marketing and Communications. In this role, he was responsible for bringing Toyota’s marketing strategy to life through creative asset development, and brand and product training, working closely with key stakeholders, including agency partners and Toyota dealers.

Previously he held the positions of Vice President of Guest Experience and Retention and Vice President of Sales Operations for the Toyota Division. He also has extensive field experience, having served as Vehicle Operations Manager for Central Atlantic Toyota and General Manager of the Denver and New York Regions.
