‘The Beverly Hillbillies, the Musical’ Benefits AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland

Strike oil, or comedy gold, at musical theater send-up of all things Clampett at Cleveland’s Near West Theatre, Monday, August 26th - 8:00 p.m.

CLEVELAND--()--Northern Ohio audiences are invited to spend a rollicking evening with the Clampetts and all their kinfolk for an evening of music and merriment when the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland (ATGC) presents “The Beverly Hillbillies, The Musical” at Cleveland’s Near West Theatre on Monday, August 26th.

“Hillbillies” marks the Taskforce’s 20th anniversary of its annual theater or musical theater production, with all proceeds benefiting ATGC. Based on the iconic television show by producer Paul Henning, “The Beverly Hillbillies, The Musical” features a book by Amanda Rogers with music and lyrics by Gregg Opelka.

The cast of “Hillbillies” brings together veteran performers and musicians from Cleveland’s robust theater community, including many who lent their talents to previous ATGC benefit theater productions, including 2018’s staging of the Hollywood-nun-themed “The Divine Sister.”

Some of the performers here include Rachel Spence (Granny), Brian Altman (Jed Clampett), Trey Gilpin (Cousin Pearl/Judith Von Vanderkamp), Pat Miller (Justin Addison/Hank), and Tim Keo, a longtime actor-teacher with Great Lakes Theatre who has appeared onstage as the bass player for every ATGC benefit since 2003.

Tickets to the August 26, 2024, performance of “The Beverly Hillbillies, The Musical” are available from Rebecca Strong at the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland at 216-235-3417, or online at ATGC’s Eventbrite page. Tickets are $25 each and seating is general admission.
