EDMONTON, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Positive Intent Events (PIE) is launching Canada’s first adult’s only, alcohol-free, festival cannabis consumption garden event at the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival. The PIE Experience Garden is a shaded oasis where adult guests can enjoy a mocktail or alcohol-free beer, receive on-site delivery of cannabis drinks and edibles and chill in a fun environment.

The updates to the Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Regulation that allow licensed cannabis retailers to set up temporary sales at adults-only events, like trade shows and festivals, were announced by the provincial government in December 2023 and took effect in January 2024. A statement from the province says the aim is to reduce barriers for businesses and "better combat the illegal market."
The PIE Experience Garden Event, which is directly inside the gates of the Fringe Fest across the street from the Strathcona Farmers Market, will have an age-check requirement for entry and a second age-check to receive delivery of cannabis products on-site.
Cannabis retail partner NUMO Cannabis is providing on-site delivery from a special Fringe Fest menu and expects to deliver within 30-minutes or less. Guests can order in advance by visiting numocannabis.com/onlinesales and for pick up their products inside the garden.
