ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In alignment with the celebration of its 25th anniversary, HealthTrust Performance Group announced that it has honored HealthTrust member Jimmy Lewis, Chief Executive Officer of HomeTown Health, with a Legacy Award for his decades of contributions to rural healthcare organizations and providers. HealthTrust presented Lewis with the award during the annual HealthTrust University Conference in Orlando, Florida on August 13, 2024.
Under Lewis’ leadership, Georgia-based HomeTown Health has expanded to a network of rural hospitals, healthcare providers and business partners across 17 states. His strategic vision has been pivotal in fostering collaboration among 60 hospitals throughout the Southeast and driving initiatives to effectively serve rural patient communities.
“Having partnered with Jimmy for more than two decades, it is an honor to recognize his invaluable contributions to healthcare and the patients ultimately served,” said David Osborn, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Account Management & Sales at HealthTrust. “It is undeniable that Jimmy’s relentless advocacy and steadfast dedication have made a remarkable impression on the rural healthcare community. He is an exemplary recipient most deserving of this Legacy Award.”
In addition to his leadership at HomeTown Health, Lewis has been fundamental in passing key legislation and regulation for rural healthcare providers — including hospital-based nursing homes, state merit, PPS and critical access hospitals — which have been critical to their survival. For 25 years, HealthTrust has partnered with HomeTown Health to support these rural healthcare providers in delivering high-quality care.
