USA Swimming Launches Sisense Datahub, Delivering Dynamic, Scalable Analytics Aiming to Boost Youth Engagement

Analytics tool engages tech-savvy swimmers of all ages and identifies coaches and swim clubs with high-performing athletes and strong participation rates

NEW YORK--()--Sisense, the leader in AI-driven analytics that transforms enterprise data into a competitive edge, today announced the launch of Sisense Datahub for USA Swimming. This data analysis platform enables the organization’s 350,000 athletes and 20,000 coaches to access data insights from any web browser to analyze swimming performance and participation rates.

With Sisense Fusion Compose SDK, USA Swimming utilizes the Sisense API-first analytics platform to create dynamic queries, charts, and filters directly from application code without any predefined dashboards or widgets. This powerful tool enables the creation of bespoke and fully flexible embedded analytics, providing USA Swimming’s data team the ability to quickly develop customized data models.

Instead of waiting weeks for data reports, swimmers and coaches can now log into USA Swimming’s portal anytime to analyze performance metrics by age, gender, event, and stroke. Additionally, USA Swimming executives can track retention across 2,800 swimming clubs nationwide to identify those with the highest participation rates. This capability enables the organization to pinpoint which coaches are creating the best experiences for swimmers, and understand the training methods that lead to strong race times.

"A strong data infrastructure is critical for modern sports organizations,” said Sisense CEO Ariel Katz. “With the Sisense Datahub, USA Swimming can provide athletes and coaches with timely and actionable insights to gain valuable feedback. Sisense is proud that we can help to develop an engaging and effective training environment that will help USA Swimming thrive as an organization."

“The Sisense Datahub empowers swimming clubs to see how their swimmers compare to other clubs across the country,” said Joel Shinofield, Managing Director of Sport Development at USA Swimming. “Clubs can see how they need to improve in terms of performance and how many kids are staying in swimming programs. From that analysis, we can see which coaches are doing a great job of getting kids excited and engaged, and how well they are performing. By examining these coaches’ techniques, USA Swimming can make informed recommendations regarding training methods to other coaches and clubs across the country.”

Revolutionizing swimming: Data-driven strategies to cultivate future champions
Young swimmers often leave the sport out of disappointment if they don’t see a fast rate of improvement in their swimming times. By tapping into kids' habit of using smartphones, the Sisense Datahub gamifies their development and progress. These young swimmers will see how they stack up against a national pool of talent and against historical times averages.

“Young swimmers can begin to understand that even Olympic greats had race times go up, down, and plateau in their formative training years,” said Shinofield.

Providing US coaches with insights empowers them to inspire their athletes to stay in the sport longer and significantly boost their chances of development. Additionally, higher participation rates will develop more high-performance athletes across the board.

The Sisense differentiator
Until partnering with Sisense, USA Swimming coaches and athletes had to wait weeks to obtain statistical analysis. Now, with Sisense Datahub, they can access dynamic, scalable analytics that enable quick and efficient data-driven decision-making. Sisense Datahub provides easy-to-read access to analytics dashboards for swimmers and coaches at their fingertips, which can take into account several variables and are presented as graphs or raw numbers in charts.
