Petra Funds Group Appoints Nicholas Gajdjis as Senior Advisor

Former EY private equity audit partner brings extensive experience advising leading PE firms

NEW YORK--()--Petra Funds Group (“Petra”), a leading independent private funds administrator, today announced the addition of Nicholas Gajdjis as a Senior Advisor to the firm, further expanding Petra’s deep bench of professionals who have spent their careers helping private equity, private debt and venture capital fund managers scale their operations.

Mr. Gajdjis joins Petra after nearly four decades at EY, where he worked with a broad range of financial services and investment management firms. For the last 20 years, he has specialized in private equity as an audit partner to private equity funds, investment advisors and regulated investment companies. Mr. Gajdjis has advised clients on start-up operations, accounting policies and procedures, internal controls, regulatory matters, valuation, complex fund structures, and finance and reporting operating models.

Throughout his career, Nick has built deep and trusted relationships across the private markets ecosystem, working closely with general partners at leading private equity and alternative investment funds,” said Stephen Coats, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Petra. “As one of the most qualified advisors in the industry, we are thrilled to welcome Nick to Petra and look forward to leveraging his knowledge as we continue to guide our clients through every stage of their growth.”

We’ve known Nick for many years and greatly value his expertise and approach to complex, technical matters, and we are looking forward to bringing him on board,” said Peter Haskopoulos, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Petra. “Professional services and private equity are in Nick’s DNA – he has spent his entire career helping private equity CFOs navigate challenges and will be an incredible resource to Petra’s clients.”

Prior to his retirement from EY in June 2024, Mr. Gajdjis worked with a diverse group of private equity clients, from energy-focused, large and middle-market buyout funds to smaller entrepreneurial funds. He has significant SEC experience, including initial public offerings and other public vehicles, in both an audit and advisory capacity. He has worked directly with multiple private equity and other alternative managers on IPO readiness, execution and operating as a public company.

I am excited to be joining Petra as I transition into the next phase of an incredibly fulfilling career in the private equity industry,” said Mr. Gajdjis. “When thinking about how I could continue to provide unrivaled client service and solutions and deliver value to private markets firms, Petra felt like a natural fit and I look forward to working closely with the leadership team.”
