NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--HeroWear, an exosuit technology and solutions company, announced today John Heller will serve as the company’s first chief operating officer. In this new role, John will lead operations, finance, and HR. He will implement strategies to drive long-term growth by supporting the scalable adoption of exosuits and recurring services across many industries and applications.

Expected to grow at a CAGR of more than 15% by 2030, the exoskeleton and exosuit market has caught the attention of companies across industries including warehousing and logistics, manufacturing, retail, food and beverage, and construction among other sectors. As COO, Heller will strengthen HeroWear’s alignment with these and other industries by pursuing assistive technology, training, and solutions to reduce injury and fatigue and improve the lives of workers with physically demanding jobs.

“John joins HeroWear at a pivotal time for both the exosuit/exoskeleton industry and our company,” said Mark Harris, CEO and co-founder of HeroWear. “He brings expertise and proven experience in leading high-growth companies to realize strong, sustainable gains in operational and financial performance. He will play an invaluable role as we evolve our technology, offer new services, and expand our footprint internationally."

In addition to the private sector, the U.S. public sector recently demonstrated interest in technologies and practices that would improve conditions for industrial workers. For example, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) published research into wearable technologies in the workplace, including exoskeletons in March. In May, the Senate introduced The Warehouse Worker Protection Act, a proposed law establishing protections for warehouse workers. Many states have also introduced or adopted similar legislation within the past year.

"With increased demand, regulatory support, and immense market potential, it's an exciting time to be part of this industry,” said Heller. “Collectively, these factors create a landscape ripe with opportunities for our patented technology products to drive continued innovation and growth while fulfilling our mission of enabling better lives for industrial workers.”

Heller, a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army, will leverage his 30+ years of experience in finance and operations to meet the needs of current and potential customers worldwide. He has led operations and finance teams within publicly traded companies and high-growth startups.

At Keurig Green Mountain, Heller gained significant expertise with the operational challenges of selling patented technology products during numerous back-to-back years of hyper-revenue growth. After Keurig, his focus is bringing his leadership skills and data-driven operational expertise to help early-stage companies, like HeroWear, S’well, and YummyEarth, achieve long-term success. Heller’s appointment to this new position on the company’s executive team positions HeroWear to further accelerate its growth.

Since its founding in 2019, HeroWear launched two iterations of its Apex exosuit, most recently the Apex 2. One of the world’s most heavily researched and scientifically validated exoskeletons, the Apex has been part of more than 20 academic research studies, field tests, and independent trials. Serving customers in more than 25 countries and a dozen industries, HeroWear delivers exosuit solutions that lead the industry in comfort, usability, accessibility, and effective, scalable deployment.
