MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Skylo Technologies, the pioneer in ‘direct-to-device’ non-terrestrial network (NTN) communications, has brought on three key leaders to help scale industry engagement amid rapid growth. Following the launch of direct-to-device service in North America and winning Best Non-Terrestrial Network solution at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this February, the company is quickly expanding its market presence to allow for millions of devices to access this complementary network for mobile operators.
Paul Hanton has been named as the company’s first VP of Carrier Partnerships, Pete Saladino joined as the company’s first Global Head of Marketing, and Vijay Krishnan has joined as VP of Strategic Partnerships to lead business development efforts with chipset and device partners.
“Skylo is bringing together the entire industry from world-class smartphone and IoT chipset providers to the top mobile network operators to harness the incredible power of standards-based NTN. Our direct-to-device service is built upon 90+ patents beyond the standards, enabling the mobile ecosystem to easily plug in and provide expansive satellite connectivity to their customers with scale, efficiency, and reliability,” said Parth Trivedi, CEO and Co-Founder of Skylo Technologies. “Satellite connectivity investments are no longer niche decisions for carriers, with most major modems certified by Skylo, and Android having incorporated satellite into its latest release. Both OEMs and carriers alike are looking to Skylo for ways to deploy direct-to-device across their subscribers, and our exceptional GTM team will help ensure that our customers can quickly take advantage of this new capability.”
Prior to joining Skylo, Paul Hanton was at Google leading Carrier partnerships in the Americas, responsible for the commercial introduction and launch of Google’s Pixel devices. At Skylo, Paul will help mobile operators provide deeper and broader customer solutions, minimizing the need for their capex or spectrum investments, and providing complementary services from their current SIM. Pete Saladino spent 13 years at Samsung Mobile where he led carrier marketing and national promotions for the Galaxy brand in the US. Pete will manage the go-to-market process as well as brand strategy and execution. Vijay Krishnan comes to Skylo following a distinguished career at Intel Corporation where he led multiple lines of business as GM and P/L owner. Vijay will lead Skylo’s efforts to integrate with a broad ecosystem of chipsets, components, and devices.
