NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FOX News Books, the publishing platform of FOX News Media, delivered another number one bestseller with “The War on Warriors: Behind the Betrayal of the Men who Keep us Free” authored by Army veteran and FOX & Friends Weekend co-host Pete Hegseth. As the 11th title for FOX News Books and second for Hegseth within the imprint, the title landed atop the New York Times bestseller list in the nonfiction category. This marks Hegseth’s fourth New York Times bestselling title and follows the runaway success of his inaugural FOX News Book, “Modern Warriors: Real Stories from Real Heroes,” which debuted in 2020. Notably, every title from the FOX News Books imprint has ranked among multiple national bestsellers lists and has collectively sold over 2.5 million copies since its inception.
In commenting on the milestone, Hegseth said, “Publishing this book has been a moving experience from start to finish. I am honored and humbled that The War on Warriors has resonated with so many people; most especially with actively serving troops, veterans, and military families. This book is for them, and for our country. A great nation needs a great military, and I hope this book plays a role in restoring the military to its core function: deterring, fighting, and winning our wars.”
With over 60,000 copies sold since it’s June 4th debut, Hegseth insightfully explored how changes in the armed services have affected those in uniform and impacted our ability to protect the nation. Uncovering the deep roots of dysfunction in our military, “The War on Warriors” sheds light on a society that has forgotten the people who protect the security of the United States. Combining his own experiences as an Army veteran and words from fellow men in uniform, this book dissects the ways in which the chain of command has lost sight of their mission. The achievement follows Hegseth’s latest bestseller “Battle for the American Mind” (June 2022), and his previous titles “American Crusade” (May 2020) and “In the Arena” (May 2016), along with “Modern Warriors.”
Hegseth served as an infantry Major in the Army National Guard with tours in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay. He holds two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman Badge for his service in Iraq and Afghanistan. He joined FOX News as a contributor in 2014 and is currently a co-host of FOX & Friends Weekend alongside Will Cain and Rachel Campos-Duffy. He most recently hosted a companion program to his book, “The War on Warriors” for the FOX Nation streaming service. Hegseth has also hosted the FOX Nation Patriot Awards for the past five years, honoring America’s everyday heroes, including military veterans, first responders and inspirational figures who have contributed to their communities.
In addition to Hegseth, FOX News Books alongside HarperCollins Publishers, has published Shannon Bream’s trilogy; “The Women of the Bible Speak” (March 2021), “The Mothers and Daughters of the Bible Speak” (March 2022), and “The Love Stories of the Bible Speak” (March 2023), along with “All American Christmas” by Rachel Campos-Duffy and Sean Duffy (November 2021), “Faith Still Move Mountains” by Harris Faulkner (October 2022), Johnny Joey Jones’ “Unbroken Bonds of Battle” (June 2023), Carley Shimkus’ “Cooking with Friends” (October 2023) Jimmy Failla’s “Cancel Culture Dictionary” (January 2024) and most recently, Dr. Nicole Saphier’s “Love, Mom” (April 2024).
