FRISCO, Texas--()--Boingo Wireless, a leading provider of wireless solutions for the U.S. military, has launched Boingo Fiber, a new cutting-edge internet service for housing communities on U.S. military bases. Boingo Fiber is the first “instant-on” Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) solution for the U.S. military and is now available on Fort Carson, recognized as one of the world's premier locations for military training.

“To better serve those who serve, Boingo Fiber ushers in a new era of internet connectivity for military family housing with instant-on Fiber-to-the-Home service,” said Rebecca Gray, senior vice president and general manager, military at Boingo Wireless. “Bringing the power of fiber-optic technology to military bases unlocks reliable, premium, and affordable connectivity that enriches the quality of life for service members and their families. Lightning-fast service enables families to stream multiple devices anywhere in the home, pursue online education and training, engage in remote work, stay in touch with loved ones, access gaming and entertainment platforms and much more.”

Boingo Fiber is designed to meet the price point, mobility and convenience needs of those living on base. At Fort Carson, Boingo Fiber offers 1 gigabit download and upload internet speeds for $69 per month, with no data caps, no hidden fees, no contracts and no equipment charges. “Instant-on” technology enables set-up in seconds, without the need for a truck roll or installer. To get online, customers simply scan a QR code on a preinstalled Boingo Fiber box in the home and pair it with their preferred router or Whole Home Wi-Fi system. This “bring your own” device approach makes internet service convenient for families.

Boingo worked in partnership with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) and Balfour Beatty Communities to make Boingo Fiber available at Fort Carson Family Homes. The solution adds to Boingo’s extensive communication infrastructure offerings for the Department of Defense. More than 100 U.S. military bases rely on Boingo to securely connect barracks, dorms, family housing, classrooms, training facilities, gyms, offices and other locations with next generation 5G, Wi-Fi and private cellular networks.

“Boingo’s 20+ years of experience successfully solving complex connectivity challenges at major venues around the world gives us deep technical know-how to deliver for the military,” said Gray. “Our vast footprint of distributed antenna systems, Wi-Fi, small cells and macro towers securely powers innovation and connectivity in airports, transit stations, stadiums, hospitals, commercial properties, enterprises as well as military bases. We put the customer first—providing the right solution for the right need in the right location.”
