Values-In-Action Foundation Hosts 30th Values Matter Awards Dinner June 6

CLEVELAND--()--The Values-in-Action Foundation will hold its 30th Anniversary Values Matter Awards Dinner and Celebration on Thursday, June 6 beginning at 6:15 pm at Landerhaven, 611 Landerhaven Drive, Cleveland.

In recognition of all the sacrifices of our military heroes, Values-in-Action is recognizing Gen. David Petraeus with the Rescuer of Humanity Award. Previous recipients of the Rescuer of Humanity Award include Presidents Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush, Steven Spielberg, Rosa Parks, CTE discoverer Dr. Bennet Omalu, Hotel Rwanda’s Paul Rusesabagina, Tobacco Cessation Pioneer Dr. Jeffrey Wiegand, Peter Yarrow and 2023 Nobel Prize in Medicine laureate Dr. Drew Weissman, among others.

The Values-in-Action Foundation, through its Kindland initiatives, has been working for three decades to make kindness a core value in America. It is committed to empowering students and adults to act with values such as integrity, kindness, respect, love, open communication, hope, a commitment to giving back, believing in one’s self, and believing in others.

Each year the Values-in-Action Foundation has recognized individuals and organizations for their kindness and commitment in making businesses, schools, organizations and communities at large recognize, adopt and spread character building kindness programs.

Values Matter Award honorees represent the very best of all of those individuals and organizations who are helping us achieve our mission through their tireless support. The awards and honorees are:

A dessert reception will follow the dinner at which time attendees will be encouraged to mingle with the honorees.

About Kindland and The Values-in-Action Foundation

Values-in-Action (www.viafdn.org) is a 30-year-old, Northeast Ohio-based nonprofit that has trained 2.1 million students in all 50 states to lead with kindness, caring and respect. Kindland was initiated by Values-in-Action Foundation in 2019 as its effort to embed kindness as a core value in all communities. Kindland’s approach is holistic — merging schools and community, business and government in a combined effort to spread positivity.

Kindland programming is already in 900 schools in the state, including CMSD and Akron Public Schools. Currently, there are over 150 nonprofit organizations that are Kindland partners and more than 500 community leaders who have signed on as Leaders or Co-Chairs.
