Marcus Theatres Rolls out New, “Everyday Matinee”-- $7 Tickets for Seniors and Kids!

Everyday Matinee joins Marcus Theatres’ robust offerings of cost-saving programs for moviegoers.

MILWAUKEE--()--Marcus Theatres®, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE:MCS), announced today that it will roll out the Everyday Matinee program beginning May 31 to give moviegoers 11 years old & under and 60 & over the ability to purchase movie tickets for $7 for all shows before 4 p.m.

Many people, but especially families and seniors, are looking at their budgets closely and having to make hard choices,” said Greg Marcus, chief executive officer of The Marcus Corporation. “Movies have always been a place for everyone to come together while watching a story on the big screen, and by offering families and seniors our new Everyday Matinee prices, we are helping make sure that going to the theatre will continue to be a treasured, shared affordable experience for generations to come.”

Everyday Matinee will be available for children and seniors on any day, for any movie before 4 p.m., including long-awaited family sequels like Inside Out 2 and Despicable Me 4, and some of the summer’s biggest upcoming blockbusters, including Deadpool & Wolverine. The program is one of many ways Marcus Theatres is making it more affordable for moviegoers to continue making memories at the theatre.

We’re excited to offer multiple ways to help moviegoers save money without having to give up activities they enjoy,” said Mark Gramz, president of Marcus Theatres. “With programs like the Marcus Mystery Movie, Value Tuesday, Marcus Passports, and now Everyday Matinee, we are committed to keeping moviegoing affordable for everyone.”

Marcus Theatres began hosting Marcus Mystery Movie in April to give moviegoers a super-secret-hush-hush screening of a new movie – before its release date – for just $5 per person. The next screening will take place June 17.

Marcus Theatres’ most popular program is Value Tuesday. Held weekly, moviegoers pay $7 admission for any movie* at any time and can purchase the large popcorn and soda Super Combo for $16.85 or a hot dog for $3. On Value Tuesdays, the company celebrates members of Magical Movie Rewards (MMR), a no-cost loyalty program, with additional discounts. MMR members pay $6 for admission, receive half-off surcharges for screenings in SuperScreen® and UltraScreen® auditoriums, and can purchase a Super Combo for $12 or a hot dog for $2.50. Non-members can join for free at Marcus Theatres’ website, via the app, or in the theatre.

Marcus Theatres offers several discounts on newly released and classic movies via the Marcus Passport. Marcus Theatres is the only theatre circuit in the U.S. with the technology to allow moviegoers to make one purchase to see multiple movies at the lowest price. Currently, the following passports are available for purchase:

  • Angel Studios’ Passport offers the choice of three movies for just $20 from the popular studio behind “Sound of Freedom,” including their new movies and a selection of past films.
  • Summer Kids Dream Passport lets families see 12 kid-friendly favorites this summer for only $18. This is a 50% savings compared to buying admissions for individual titles.
  • The Studio Ghibli Passport and Sinister Sunday Passport each feature two low-priced options to enjoy favorite genre films on the big screen.

Movie fans looking forward to seeing both chapters of Kevin Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga will save up to $10 on admission with the Horizon Passport, which will be on sale soon.
