ZIONSVILLE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--To give consumers a simple, tailored way to diversify returns and guarantee higher minimum growth, Delaware Life Insurance Company (Delaware Life), a Group 1001 company, announces the addition of two diversified, multi-strategy Precision Portfolios as part of the Growth Pathway fixed index annuity (FIA). As an additional enhancement, Growth Pathway is now the only FIA to offer the Invesco QQQ ETF.
Clients can choose from two diversified Precision Portfolio options – one without volatility control indexes and the second featuring indexes both with and without volatility control. The portfolio options comprise index strategies (which can also be selected individually) from world-class, well-known investment companies including Invesco, Janus Henderson, First Trust/Barclays, and Franklin Templeton/Société Générale, as well as a fixed account.1
The Precision Portfolios include an enhanced no-fee Guaranteed Minimum Account Value (GMAV) that guarantees the annuity account value will grow over the surrender charge period even if the selected portfolio doesn’t generate interest credit. At the end of the surrender period, the account value will receive a GMAV credit (118 percent after five years or 125 percent after seven years).2
“The Precision Portfolios do the work for consumers by providing a diversified range of options and also an enhanced GMAV,” said Group 1001 Chief Product Officer Dale Uthoff. “Featuring some of the top investment company names in the industry, Precision Portfolios combine the power of diversification with financial markets research to help clients meet their retirement savings goals.”
Michelin Sharp, Head of the Insurance and Retirement Group at Janus Henderson, said, “Our Adaptive allocation process seeks to harness the Nobel Prize-winning research of Dr. Myron Scholes by attempting to balance the risk of market losses with the risk of missing out on market gains, using information derived from the options markets. We are pleased to partner with Delaware Life to bring this strategy within a fixed index annuity that seeks to provide capital preservation and tax benefits to investors.”
“We are pleased to offer insurance customers access to Invesco QQQ as an index within Delaware Life’s fixed indexed annuity,” said Paul Temple, Head of Invesco Financial Institutions Group. “QQQ is a leading ETF that provides exposure to a diverse group of cutting-edge Nasdaq-100 companies. This is the first time that QQQ will be offered as an index within a FIA and it highlights Invesco’s ongoing commitment to innovation within the insurance landscape. We are looking forward to strengthening our relationship with Delaware Life through this partnership.”
1 A Precision Portfolio option is a present combination of interest crediting strategies and allocation percentages that are made available for selection at annuity purchase. Customers may only select one Precision Portfolio to allocate 100% of their premium payment. Precision Portfolio options are only available at issue and the predetermined allocation percentages making up the portfolio will not change or be rebalanced.
2 The GMAV Credit is equal to the GMAV Base minus the Account Value at the 5th or 7th anniversary (matching the selected Surrender Charge Period) but will never be less than 0. The GMAV Base is equal to the initial premium multiplied by the GMAV Factor, plus additional payments and adjusted for any withdrawals. To be eligible for the Enhanced GMAV, customers must allocate 100% of their initial premium payment to a Precision Portfolio option and the Account Value must remain allocated to that preset allocation option until the end of the Surrender Charge period.
