Investcorp Corsair Appoints John D. Porcari as Managing Director for Public Policy and Partnerships

Former United States Deputy Secretary of Transportation in the Obama Administration transitioning from current role as Operating Partner to full-time position

Responsibilities include formulation of investment strategies, origination of investment opportunities, portfolio value creation and public sector engagement

NEW YORK--()--Investcorp Corsair Infrastructure Partners (“Investcorp Corsair”), a leading global infrastructure investment firm, announced today that it has appointed John D. Porcari as Managing Director for Public Policy and Partnerships. As a result, Mr. Porcari has transitioned into a full-time role from his previous position as an Operating Partner at the firm, which he held since 2017, and will continue serving as a Board Member of Investcorp Corsair investment platform Vantage Airport Group.

As Managing Director, Mr. Porcari will be responsible for originating new investment opportunities across the transportation, logistics and associated sectors, with a particular focus on large-scale public-private partnership transactions. He will work closely with Investcorp Corsair’s investment and portfolio operations teams, as well as the management teams of the firm’s investment platforms, advising on investment process, transaction execution and post-investment value creation.

In addition, Mr. Porcari will continue to focus on maintaining and strengthening Investcorp Corsair’s relationships with important public sector stakeholders, including regulators and counterparts across Local, State and Federal Government. He will also support the formulation of new, forward-looking investment strategies in areas relating to key public policy initiatives, including energy transition, sustainability, technology and digitization, labor relations and local community development.

Prior to Investcorp Corsair, Mr. Porcari served for four and a half years as Deputy Secretary of the United States Department of Transportation in the Obama Administration, responsible for 10 operating administrations, 55,000 employees worldwide and a $70 billion operating budget. He also served as White House Port and Supply Chain Envoy in the Biden Administration, leading a series of operational and structural changes to relieve the pandemic-induced global stresses on the US supply chain, as well as President of US Advisory Services for WSP, a global professional services, planning, engineering and construction services firm.

Prior to being nominated by President Obama and unanimously confirmed by the Senate as Deputy Secretary of Transportation, Mr. Porcari twice served as Secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation, leading the only state-level transportation department that includes statewide transit, aviation, port, highway, rail, bridge and tunnel authority and motor vehicle licensing modes. Mr. Porcari also served as CFO and COO of the University of Maryland, as well as a variety of economic development positions at the local and state government levels.
