SAN FRANCISCO--()--Today CEO and co-founder of Writer, the full-stack enterprise generative AI platform, May Habib announced her inclusion in the 2024 World Economic Forum (WEF) Young Global Leaders, a prestigious group recognized for their impact in their respective fields on a global scale. This year’s cohort, selected for their contribution in improving the state of the world, is made up of a remarkable group of rising stars from technology, politics, business, civil society, the arts and academia.

The Forum of Young Global Leaders is a two decades-long initiative that spotlights the people driving global advancement and change. Habib is being recognized for her ongoing leadership and results-driven work within the world of large language models (LLMs) and generative AI technology, which has taken the world by storm over the past year. Her company, Writer, makes the leading generative AI platform for enterprises that empowers organizations — support, operations, sales, HR, marketing, and more — to accelerate growth, increase productivity, and ensure compliance. Leading companies, including Vanguard, Intuit, L’Oreal, Accenture, Spotify, Uber, and more, choose Writer to deliver generative AI across their businesses, allowing them to automate and augment key operational activities and increase employee creativity and productivity.

“I’m humbled to be included in this program, and proud that Writer can be involved in something this impactful,” said Habib. “We think there is a lot of good that generative AI can do to elevate and empower people in their professional and personal lives. By removing some of the drudgery of everyday work and leveling the playing field on communicating clearly, we are confident that we can make a positive impact, and we are honored to do so.”

2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the Forum of Young Global Leaders and its commitment to nurturing the next generation at the helm of organizations and initiatives that create positive change, including efforts within sustainability, civil society, civic engagement and more. In the three-year program, Habib and her cohort will continue to hone their skills, influence business and civic stakeholders around them, and lay the groundwork for the next generation of leaders.

Palmyra, the Writer family of state-of-the-art LLMs, ranks at the top of the Stanford HELM benchmark and other rankings for its natural language understanding, question answering, mathematical problem-solving, legal reasoning, and medical knowledge. The company’s security-first approach means that its large language models and platform are architected with the utmost security and privacy considerations, including the option to be deployed in an enterprise’s own computing infrastructure.

Launched in 2020, Writer has seen immense success with customer adoption, has grown revenues by more than 10x in the last two years, and has over 200% net revenue retention. Habib and the Writer team have successfully raised over $126M in funding from notable investors, including ICONIQ Growth, Balderton Capital, and Insight Partners.

Habib began her entrepreneurial journey as a teenager, and founded her first language startup, Qordoba, a localization software company, 10 years ago. She is an expert in AI-driven language generation, AI-related organizational change, and the evolving ways we use language online. She has been recognized in the 2023 Forbes AI 50, Inc. 2023 Female Founder Award, and is a MELI Fellow with the Aspen Institute.
