LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Parking Today, the leading publication in the parking industry, announces a change in ownership. Kevin Uhlenhaker has purchased the magazine and its related outlets from founder John Van Horn.
Founded by Van Horn in 1996, Parking Today has grown to become the widest circulation publication in the industry, with over 14,000 print issues delivered each month plus more than 15,000 visits to its interactive web site and to Parknews.biz, a parking news aggregator.
“I look forward to working with John and his team to continue PTs growth and provide the resources to bring new ways to spread parking news and information to parking pros not only in the US but internationally as well,” said Uhlenhaker. “I’m certain we can build on the foundation that exists and make the PT family of products even stronger and more vibrant.”
“I am pleased and excited to have chosen Kevin as a successor here at PT,” said Van Horn. “He will bring changes that are needed. His background in internet and parking technology will go far in jumpstarting PT into a vibrant online publication.”
A graduate of Texas Tech’s Rawls College of Business, Uhlenhaker began his career in parking technology at T2 Systems. He is the co-founder and CEO of NuPark, served as the CEO of Omnipark, and most recently was a Senior Vice President at Flash. He brings more than two decades of experience in the parking industry. He lives in Austin, Texas.
Van Horn led the sales team at a major PARCS company prior to founding Parking Today. He comes from a background of publishing having edited a country weekly newspaper prior to his foray into parking technology.
“I am pleased that John has agreed to stay on board in a consulting status. His position as editor emeritus will help me continue the legacy that has made Parking Today a legend in our industry,” noted Uhlenhaker. “I am excited to accept the role of CEO and Publisher. PT has a strong team and I’m certain we can work well together.”
