LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IGN, one of the world’s leading games and entertainment media brands reaching more than 360 million users monthly, will transform an iconic L.A. venue into the ultimate playground for a diverse community of fans of all ages. This summer brings the launch of IGN Live, its inaugural in-person consumer experience that will unite the best of gaming and entertainment with creators, developers, licensors, publishers, journalists, and enthusiasts from around the world to experience beloved brands and franchises in new and meaningful ways. The packed three-day experience will take place in Los Angeles in early June, with a portion of ticket sales going to charity through Humble Bundle.
Visitors will have access to world-class talent, parties, networking opportunities and unique attractions from a curated list of leading exhibitors across gaming and entertainment. Fans can see their favorite IGN shows live, take part in tournaments, get first looks at highly anticipated new releases and secure front-row seats at panels featuring headliners from games, television, movies and more. The IGN Live experience will extend beyond the event in downtown Los Angeles and will be broadcasted across IGN to its hundreds of millions of users around the world.
June is a key month for the passionate gaming community. For more than three decades, it has been the time when publishers, developers, and studios unveil new games and share additional information about previously announced titles. When the world’s in-person events shut down in 2020, IGN launched Summer of Gaming, a month-long program dedicated to video games and gaming culture. The virtual video game event reached 190 million people across the globe in 2023 and will return for its fifth installment this coming June thanks to incredible demand. As part of this, IGN Live will be the first in-person component of Summer of Gaming.
IGN boasts over 25 years of leadership in building communities among gaming and entertainment enthusiasts around the globe.
“IGN Live is aligned with IGN’s mission and history. For nearly three decades, we have fueled fandoms that drive the most diverse and beloved games and entertainment into the zeitgeist,” said Yael Prough, President of IGN Entertainment. “Fans and partners have voiced their demand for a physical space where the community can come together in person to celebrate the industry’s most exciting innovations. L.A. was an obvious choice. It is home to some of the world’s top gaming and entertainment talent and creators. We are already experiencing the enthusiasm from publishers, partners and leadership in Los Angeles who look forward to delivering a world-class experience to the IGN community in DTLA at IGN Live 2024.”
Doane Liu, Chief Tourism Officer, City of Los Angeles, City Tourism Department said: “L.A. continues to offer world-leading experiences for businesses and consumers alike. We have played host to many unforgettable gaming and industry events for thousands of attendees in June throughout the years. We look forward to continuing this legacy with IGN in June of 2024 and for years to come.”
IGN Live will also stream across console and mobile apps and its digital network on IGN, YouTube, connected TV services and all IGN social media profiles.
