MIAMI & DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits (Southern Glazer's)—the world’s preeminent distributor of beverage alcohol—today announced that it has published its 2023 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report, now available to view on its website: https://bit.ly/3vzIElZ. The annual CSR Report is themed around “Moments That Matter” and outlines investments aimed at broadening local and national charitable initiatives, assuming leadership in environmental sustainability efforts, and the continued expansion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs.
The CSR Report highlights the passion of Southern Glazer’s employees who contributed more than 14,230 volunteer hours and organized 203 volunteer events to support 127 unique charities during 2023. This impact is a result of Southern Glazer’s grassroots employee volunteering and giving program, VolunCheers. This year, employees helped increase the Company’s positive impact by exceeding the previous year’s volunteer hours by over 2,000 in support of diverse local charities and disaster relief.
“The constant compassion and generosity exhibited by our employees, whether dedicating their time, personal resources, or expertise, serve as a profound source of inspiration for me,” said Wayne E. Chaplin, Chief Executive Officer, Southern Glazer’s. “Their commitment reflects the core values that drive our Company toward excellence. We’ve exceeded last year’s charitable achievements, and I am confident that in 2024 we’ll come together again to bring even greater positive change across our communities.”
In 2023, Southern Glazer’s reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and DEI efforts. By strategically deploying electric vehicle pilots and Green Teams nationwide, the Company actively demonstrated its dedication to leaving the planet a better place. Southern Glazer’s further bolstered its DEI initiatives through programming like MAIS YEAH! at Tales of the Cocktail® and other virtual and in-person collaborations with supplier and charitable partners.
Initiatives designed to educate employees on critical social topics, celebrate diverse perspectives, and advocate for greater inclusion in the hospitality industry continue to take precedence at Southern Glazer’s. The 2023 CSR Report underscores the Company’s commitment to engaging marginalized communities and delivering educational programs nationwide, covering topics such as alcohol safety, underage drinking prevention, and DEI.
