OAKLAND, Calif.--()--Everlaw, the cloud-native litigation and investigation platform, announced three new features in the EverlawAI portfolio, which delivers AI-powered assistance to help legal professionals do their jobs faster and easier, and is already delivering competitive advantages to customers.

Everlaw expects to release EverlawAI Assistant for general availability this year.

More than 40 customers comprising 1,100 legal professionals from law firms, corporations, and government agencies are using EverlawAI Assistant in a beta program launched in July 2023. Their feedback continues to shape the product features, which are seamlessly integrated across the platform. Customers, such as Cole, Scott & Kissane, have already experienced real-world impacts in resolving matters faster than before with the help of AI technology.

"EverlawAI Assistant proved helpful in reaching a settlement,” said Manuel Delgado, Litigation Support Manager, Cole, Scott & Kissane. “With it, we were able to quickly summarize dozens of financial reports prior to conference. Some of the insights we gained caught the plaintiff by surprise. A settlement was solidified thereafter, and our client was thrilled.”

Delgado continued, “I have found EverlawAI Assistant a useful tool to interrogate data in complex documents to quickly ascertain our position. For example, if I have a deposition – let's say 300 pages long -- it could take hours to summarize, and the AI Assistant can do it in less than a few minutes with a topic index that we can then fact-check. In complex cases, such as employee, construction and insurance work, having a tool that will get my clients ahead of the game is invaluable for the firm.”

New GenAI Features Launched

Today Everlaw rolled out two new generative AI features within its EverlawAI Review Assistant:

  • Coding suggestions – Legal teams can speed up the review of documents through automated coding suggestions. When turned on, the EverlawAI Assistant suggests whether a code with user-configured criteria should be applied or not, and provides an explanation grounded in the document’s content of why it made the suggestion. With the flexibility, power, and ease of verifying coding suggestions, review teams can make review determinations, and find material insights within documents faster.
  • Batch summarization – Now with a single click, legal teams can easily generate verifiable summaries across multiple documents – up to their entire corpus – right in the ediscovery workflow. The summaries are viewable and exportable directly from a table of document results, such as those associated with a search or uploaded production. This makes it easier to understand what’s inside a corpus of discovery at scale and get users to understand what matters faster.

“With embedded GenAI, the Everlaw platform is helping legal teams navigate ediscovery, build their case and speed their time to resolution,” said AJ Shankar, founder and CEO, Everlaw. “We’ve got 1,000 people on board and the exciting part is seeing how the early adopters have already gained advantages by outmaneuvering their opposing counsel.”

Everlaw Launches Multi-Matter Models

The latest addition to Everlaw’s platform are Multi-Matter Models, which allow legal teams to apply their previously trained, proven Predictive Coding models to new cases, instantly delivering AI-powered review.

“No more starting from scratch every time you tackle a new case with Predictive Coding,” said Shankar. “Multi-Matter Models apply your previous work to future cases for faster time-to-value and allow you to build a portfolio of reusable AI models for your organization.”

With this new update to Everlaw’s Predictive Coding feature, users can now:

  • Leverage one or more of their previously trained models on similar new matters to save time and jumpstart AI-powered review
  • Create a library of lasting, reusable models to capitalize on past work continually
  • Tailor that library to pinpoint the legal challenges their teams face regularly

Multi-Matter Models will be available this spring.
