Sayler, CFA, to its Board of Directors. Following the appointment of Ms. Stengel Austen and Mr. Sayler, effective January 1, 2024, the Board comprises 16 Directors.
Ms. Stengel Austen is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tierney, one of the Mid-Atlantic's largest communications agencies and part of the Interpublic Group of Companies. She has 35 years of experience leading strategic communications for major brands. Among her responsibilities at Tierney, she oversees agency vision, strategy and business development and leads the reputation and crisis management practice across the agency portfolio. Active in her community, Ms. Stengel Austen serves on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia and Team PA, a public-private partnership accelerating long-term growth in Pennsylvania. She is President of the PA Chapter of the International Women’s Forum and a member of the World Presidents' Organization. She is a “Distinguished Daughter” of Pennsylvania and a recipient of numerous awards, including the ALSF 2022 Alex Scott Crystal Cup Award and was named to the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2020 Most Admired CEOs list. Ms. Stengel Austen earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Government & Law from Lafayette College. She currently resides in Radnor, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Sayler is a retired Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of the Church Pension Fund, a position he held for nine years. In this role, he headed investment management activities of the Episcopal Church’s defined benefit pension plan, defined contribution plans and several insurance portfolios. He also chaired the internal investment committee in its process of selecting external investment managers and setting investment strategies. He is active in his community, having served on the Board of Pensions for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as Trustee and Chair of the Investment Committee. He has also served on the Investment Committee of the Gettysburg Seminary Endowment Foundation and the Investment Committee of the Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board, which serves the American Baptist Churches as well as other religious organizations. Mr. Sayler earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an AB in Economics from Dartmouth College, and he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. Mr. Sayler currently resides in New Canaan, Connecticut.
