NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cantilever Group (“Cantilever” or the “Firm”), an independent investment firm specializing in providing flexible capital to leading middle market asset managers, today announced that, in connection with its general partner financing solutions investment platform, the Firm has appointed Ben Drylie-Perkins as Managing Director and Head of Investments.
Cantilever makes debt, preferred equity, and common equity investments across a wide range of middle market asset management businesses, with a focus on private markets general partnerships (“GPs”). The Firm seeks to serve as a holistic solutions provider to GPs that require flexible capital to accelerate their growth through strategic initiatives, supporting new strategies, acquisitions or facilitating generational ownership transfer. Cantilever targets investments that offer the potential for meaningful annual cash yield and participation in the continued growth of partner firms.
The Firm has ongoing strategic partnerships with BTG Pactual Asset Management and Broadhaven Ventures that include both capital and operational support. Cantilever and its strategic partners intend to help to facilitate the growth of its partner firms through strategic advice, business development initiatives and operational best practices.
In connection with the general partner financing platform, Ben Drylie-Perkins has joined Cantilever as Managing Director and Head of Investments. Prior to Cantilever, Mr. Drylie-Perkins was a Managing Director at Grafine Partners, a private markets investment firm, responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and executing seed investments in newly formed private equity GPs. Prior to Grafine, he was an advisor focused on alternative asset management at Goldman Sachs and Barclays, having led over 15 GP stake and GP financing transactions for leading GP clients and GP stakes investors.
