LEBANON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Construction Specialties (CS) introduces its newest product, Acrovyn® with post-consumer recycled content.
Acrovyn® with post-consumer recycled content is the newest evolution of Acrovyn® Wall Protection. CS launched Acrovyn in 1969 to help hospital administrators with the seemingly endless cycle of hospital wall repair. Acrovyn quickly became known for its durability, cleanability and impact resistance. Since then, CS has continuously worked to improve the processes and materials used in its products. Testing confirms that this iteration of Acrovyn possesses the same characteristics as the current offering yet consists of up to 50% post-consumer recycled content.
CS established a reputation as a sustainable organization when it was the first to manufacture PVC-free wall protection. As its sustainable strategy evolves and matures, CS strives to partner with companies that know the importance of creating environmentally friendly, safe products for employees, customers and communities. CS currently works with resin producer SK Chemicals to manufacture Acrovyn with post-consumer recycled content. SK Chemicals bought a chemical recycling plant to recycle used bottles into sustainable resin.

The performance characteristics of Acrovyn are unique and we never wanted to sacrifice performance or sustainability by switching to an alternative plastic. It allows us to take the next step to reducing embodied carbon by utilizing recycled raw materials.”
Acrovyn with post-consumer recycled content will be available spring 2024 on select woodgrains, brushed metals and sheet-based products such as wall panels and doors.
