Helium Advisors Absorbs RISE Family Office, Adds Two Veteran Advisors, Seasoned Chief Investment Officer

Strategic moves reflect continuing evolution of the integrated wealth and tax advisory firm

EVERETT, Wash.--()--Helium Advisors (“Helium”), an integrated wealth manager, today announced that it has successfully incorporated RISE Family Office into its operations. This strategic move has unified the firm’s delivery of comprehensive wealth and tax services for its client base of high-net-worth (HNW) professionals, entrepreneurs, business owners and executives across diverse industries. Concurrently, Helium is pleased to introduce two seasoned industry professionals: JJ Feldman as co-head of wealth management and Roshan Weeramantry as partner & co-head of wealth management. Additionally, Cyrus Amini, CFA, Esq., has been named chief investment officer (CIO).

Established in 2016, Helium offers a breadth of services that provide its clients with a family office style service model that includes wealth planning, investment management, insurance, tax optimization, estate planning, income tax planning and business management. With a deep network of financial, tax and legal experts, Helium acts as fiduciaries and “financial quarterbacks,” enriching clients' lives through holistic service and advice.

We’re thrilled to embark on this next chapter of our journey. With the successful incorporation of RISE Family Office into our operations, we’re taking a significant stride forward in our dedication to delivering extraordinary service and advice,” said Howard Morin, co-founder of Helium. “With the addition of JJ, Roshan and Cyrus, we’re not just expanding our team—we’re expanding our ability to provide tailored solutions that help our clients achieve their financial goals. As we continue to evolve, our client-centric focus and depth of expertise will remain as distinguishing factors.”

Feldman, who brings 15 years of experience to his new position, joined Helium from a large Los Angeles-based investment advisory firm where he designed and implemented custom portfolio solutions for HNW individuals and entrepreneurs, 401(k) plans and institutions. He began his career at KPMG advising middle-market companies on M&A and valuations. Beyond his client service role, Feldman’s duties at Helium include cultivating organic growth and expanding the advisory team.

What attracted me to Helium was the opportunity to draw on the full breadth of my experience, including wealth management, tax consulting and middle-market business advisory, to create value for clients,” remarked Feldman. “My team members excel in their respective domains, and it is a privilege to collaborate with them day in and day out.”

Helium introduced the Berkeley, California-based RISE Family Office as an independent entity within its framework in the summer of 2022. By integrating the two brands, Helium adds seasoned wealth and tax experts, including RISE Family Office co-founder Weeramantry. His background includes stints at institutions such as Deutsche Bank and AXA Equitable as well as one of the Bay Area’s largest accounting firms. Through his collaboration with CPAs and tax professionals, he has accumulated deep experience in ensuring the seamless delivery of wealth management services for clients. He possesses expertise in both alternative investment strategies and impact investing, with a specific focus on further developing the latter at Helium. Additionally, he will take the lead in driving sales initiatives and contributing to growth planning.

I’m deeply passionate about helping our clients to thrive, and a big part of that is helping them align their investment portfolios with their personal beliefs and philosophies,” said Weeramantry. “I’m proud to be part of a team that places its clients’ needs front and center, empowering them to elevate their financial well-being and impact on the world around them.”

Amini, who leads the investment team and oversees risk management, is an experienced CIO and chief compliance officer (CCO). Prior to joining Helium, he held the CIO and CCO roles at Charlesworth & Rugg, Inc., (now Highline Wealth Partners). He also has extensive retirement planning expertise with a specialty in advising 401(k) and defined benefit plans. Early in his career, he was an analyst for Banc of America Securities (now BofA Securities, Inc.). Additionally, Amini is a member of the New York State Bar Association, and a CFA charterholder.

Morin concluded: “We are consistently strengthening our team by recruiting passionate, idea-driven professionals who thrive on building client relationships, collaborating within a team, delivering solutions and incorporating new technologies – whether it's in the realm of tax strategies or providing insights on business concepts. We are always working to provide better client service and drive value in a non-traditional ways.”
