LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AAPEX – The technological prowess of four of Taiwan’s trailblazing, award-winning companies — Chimei Motor, CUB, EverFocus, and MiTAC Digital — was evidenced at yesterday’s product launch event at the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion at AAPEX 2023 where they unveiled transformative AI and IoV products that are not only shaping the vehicles of the future, but also the future of the global automotive industry.
The “Ingenuity in Motion: Accelerating with Taiwan’s Best” product launch event was presented by Taiwan Excellence, the symbol representing the best and most innovative Taiwanese products. The event showcased groundbreaking technologies including a driver monitoring system that alerts and keeps distracted and fatigued drivers safe, a smarter AI mirror that gives voice and visual warnings, a smart dashcam that helps drivers navigate the road, and an innovative Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) solution that helps prevent accidents.
“The automotive industry is racing toward a new world with the adoption of advanced technology solutions driving the majority of the underlying trends in the industry. Taiwan is fast establishing itself as an innovation hub for the automotive industry,” said Mr. Michael Liou, Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles. “We are proud of Taiwan companies’ continued contributions to the global information technology ecosystem and look forward to more collaborations with our automotive supply chain partners in the exciting decade ahead.”
The 2023 product launch event also featured an address from Taipei AMPA Project Manager Ms. Yi-Chih Chiu, highlighting Taiwan’s role in the automotive supply chain and how it is helping shape the automotive industry. “Taiwan may be a small country, but it has played a big role in the automotive aftermarket industry for years. Today we are one of the most important providers in the global aftermarket of auto parts and electronics, with the US the largest market for Taiwan automotive products, accounting for more than $4,000 M in 2022,” Chiu said.
These four Taiwanese companies, all Taiwan Excellence award winners, generated a lot of buzz with the debut of their new products at the product launch event.
1. Chimei Motor
Addressing an enthusiastic audience, Chimei talked about how AI is revolutionizing automotive imaging systems, providing a quantum leap toward added driver safety, convenience, and comfort. Ms. Cynthia Hsu, sales manager of Chimei, highlighted two of the company's many smart cockpit innovations: Its Blind spot information system (BSIS) uses advanced AI recognition technology to alert drivers to risks about to occur and avoid collisions with people or bicyclists when turning. Its Driving Behavior Detection System (DMS) monitors a driver’s state and issues warnings when they show signs of dangerous behavior such as drowsiness or distraction.
2. CUB
CUB showed off two of its innovations — the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Sales Director Lily Chen explained that both systems are leading the way to make the road safer for all vehicles. Its ADAS is an innovative detection system for vehicles with large blind spots, while its commercial TPMS can be used by two-wheel trailers to twenty-two-wheel commercial vehicles.
3. EverFocus
A pioneering force in AI, EverFocus explained how its new AI monitoring solutions are helping jumpstart smart transportation and improving fleet safety. US Product Sales Manager Gary Chen noted that the US rear view and blind spot detection market is growing at a CAGR of 5.7% and is expected to reach $15.76 billion by 2025. EverFocus’ Smarter AI Mirror, which Mr. Chen called “your next-gen rear view system,” alerts drivers with voice and visual warnings when a pedestrian or cyclist is in the vehicle's blind spot. Its Digital Driving Recorder with Vision Assistance System (2 in 1) has eight integrated functions to improve driving and driving safety.
With the goal to enable the future of vision mobility, MiTAC Digital showcased its new video telematics solution. MiTAC Sales Manager Mr. Paul Lee presented the company’s new MioEYE™, a smart fleet camera solution that helps protect commercial vehicles, mitigate risk, and coach drivers through high-resolution videos, driver behaviors, and vehicle data to enhance fleet safety. MiTAC believes this will be a key product to revolutionize fleet management and driver behavior on the roads.
