SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nexsan®, the pioneer of highly reliable, cost-effective storage, today announced Victoria Grey and Andy Hill are returning to the company as Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Sales Worldwide, respectively, bringing back their expertise with the Nexsan brand and channel to continue rebuilding its value to customers and partners.
With more than 50 years of industry experience between them, Grey and Hill held leadership positions at Nexsan at its peak of revenue, profitability, and customer adoption. Nexsan was purchased by Serene Investment Management earlier this year with a renewed commitment to the Nexsan product lines, people, and channel partnerships. Serene appointed Dan Shimmerman as CEO and under new guidance and leadership, Nexsan has achieved positive operational cashflow and increases in both sales and profitability. In addition to these key executive positions, Nexsan is experiencing growth across the company, hiring in sales and marketing, operations, finance, and engineering.
“This homecoming for Andy and Victoria is evidence that Nexsan is investing in and focusing on our core business—enterprise-class affordable, reliable storage systems,” said Dan Shimmerman, Nexsan CEO. “Having previously played integral roles in the company’s success, they understand and love the brand and channel partners, and believe that there is a great future for Nexsan.”
Grey is an experienced worldwide marketing executive who returns to Nexsan for the third time, having previously served as CMO in 2016-2017 and Senior VP of Marketing in 2010-2013. She has held marketing executive, leadership. and advisory positions at FalconStor, APARAVI, GridStore (HyperGrid), Quantum, and Dell EMC.
Hill is also a seasoned successful executive returning to Nexsan, having previously served as Nexsan’s EVP Sales, Europe, Middle East & Africa from 2006-2013, with responsibility for all revenue generation/business development including pre-sales, sales administration, and marketing. He has also held executive sales leadership positions at Sequent, VERITAS, Komprise and Virtuozzo
“There’s a reason Nexsan not only still exists but is loved by customers and partners worldwide, and that’s the quality and value Nexsan brings,” said Grey. “Nexsan's top-notch reputation proves it has staying power and we intend to build on that momentum.”
“Besides the strength of its product offerings Nexsan has long been recognized for its worldwide network of specialty channel partners that offer superior expertise and customer support,” said Hill. “Nexsan was built on the backbone of its channel, and it’s those decades-long relationships that have enabled it to survive. We are committed to reinvesting in and growing our channel success under Nexsan’s new leadership.”
Key to Nexsan’s endurance is the ongoing need to maintain large data stores in on-premises storage hardware—a need that persisted despite the advent of cloud computing, and now grows more pressing as organizations face inflated cloud costs. Nexsan channel partners excel at delivering solutions built on Nexsan storage systems that address essential functions like high-performance data vaults, bulletproof backup and archive, cybersecurity, and digital video.
