NCQA Rates Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Highest Medicaid Health Plan in Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS--()--Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Indiana’s Medicaid health plan was rated 4 out of 5 in the National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA) Medicaid Health Plan Ratings for 2023, the highest rating among all Medicaid health plans in Indiana. This rating recognizes Anthem as a leader in supporting its members with access to high-quality healthcare services.

The NCQA rated Anthem’s Medicaid health plan 4.5 out of 5 stars for Women’s Health with the health plan earning 5 stars for prenatal and postpartum care. Anthem’s Medicaid health plan is the only Medicaid health plan in the state to have earned Health Equity Accreditation from NCQA, recognizing efforts to reduce health care disparities.

NCQA, a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare quality, released its 2023 Health Plan Ratings in September. The report rates more than 1,000 commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid health insurance plans on a 5-point scale for patient experience, prevention, and treatment. The insights gained from the NCQA ratings are vital in enhancing interventions, delivering impactful programs, and shaping future strategies, as well as helping consumers, employers, and others make more informed healthcare choices. A rating of four or higher on the NCQA rankings indicates that a health plan is among the top one-third in the U.S.
