GMS Board Members Recognized for Excellence in Board Leadership

Peter C. Browning and Teri P. McClure Receive Prestigious Corporate Governance Awards

TUCKER, Ga.--()--GMS Inc. (NYSE: GMS), a leading North American specialty building products distributor, is proud to announce that two members of its Board of Directors have been recognized for their excellence in board leadership and significant professional achievements.

Peter C. Browning has received the B. Kenneth West Lifetime Achievement Award from The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), a peer-to-peer network of board directors with more than 23,000 members. The award is given annually to a director who has demonstrated exceptional achievements throughout the full scope of their board career, including commitment to the improvement of corporate governance practices and excellent leadership. Since 1989, Mr. Browning has served on the boards of directors of fourteen publicly traded companies and during that time, has been Chairman and CEO, CEO, non-executive chair, lead director and chair of audit, compensation, and governance/nominating committees. He has extensive experience in a wide variety of corporate governance and compensation issues and is an accomplished author in the field.

Teri P. McClure was awarded The Sandra Day O’Connor Board Excellence Award by DirectWomen, a national nonprofit with a mission to increase the representation of women lawyers on corporate boards. The award annually honors women lawyers who have served with distinction as directors of public companies and have made significant achievements to advance the value of diversity in the workplace and in board positions. Ms. McClure has served as a director of many public and private companies, including transportation, shipping, and engineering and construction firms. Her board expertise includes governance, strategic human capital and culture, executive compensation, strategic planning, performance management and succession, global legal and regulatory compliance, government affairs, and crisis management.
