Upperline Health Expands Executive Leadership Team to Scale Specialty Value-Based Care Across the United States

Four new executives join the healthcare company as it experiences 300% YoY growth, enrolls more than 30,000 new Medicare patients and serves 350,000 patients, annually

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--Upperline Health, the nation’s largest provider network dedicated to specialty value-based care, today announced four additions to its executive leadership team: Jin Zou, Chief Financial Officer; Marcus Moreno, Chief Operating Officer; Christiana Beveridge, President and Chief Medical Officer, Upperline Plus; and Lindy Blevins, Chief People Officer. This new cohort of top industry talent will join Upperline Health’s Nashville headquarters and help lead efforts to scale the business and expand Upperline Plus, its value-based care program.

Zou, Moreno, Beveridge, and Blevins join Upperline Health during a period of momentous growth. In June, the company secured $58.35 million in new investment to fuel adoption of Upperline Plus. In less than one year, more than 30,000 Medicare patients have enrolled in the program, benefitting from more comprehensive and convenient care, without any impact on their existing Medicare coverage.

The newly expanded senior leadership team brings extensive industry experience to the company, including:

  • Jin Zou, Chief Financial Officer: Zou will oversee the financial organization of Upperline Health, and help the company scale its finance function as it continues to serve more patients. Zou joins with more than 15 years of experience in healthcare finance, most recently as Vice President of Finance for U.S. Healthcare at Walgreens Boots Alliance. Previously, he held senior finance, business development and operations positions with value-based care provider agilon health and global healthcare organization, McKesson. Zou holds a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from NYU Stern School of Business.
  • Marcus Moreno, Chief Operating Officer: Moreno will oversee operations and help the company scale its full-risk service offering for patients with chronic conditions. In particular, he will manage the daily operations of Upperline Health’s clinics, grow the company’s patient base, and support the integration of Upperline Plus across the organization’s clinical footprint. He will also lead shared services supporting patients and clinical teams. Previously, Moreno served as Chief Product Officer at Solutran, an Optum company and held regional leadership roles at Oak Street Health. Moreno received a B.A. from Harvard University and an MBA from the Wharton School.
  • Christiana Beveridge, President and Chief Medical Officer, Upperline Plus: Dr. Beveridge will be responsible for leading Upperline’s value-based care model, including integration with existing clinics, care model development and implementation, risk adjustment, quality efforts, and training for Upperline Health physicians and clinicians. She brings extensive value-based care experience to the company, joining from Oak Street Health where she served as Medical Director of Population Health. Prior to that, she was a consultant for McKinsey & Company focusing on value-based strategy and operations. Dr. Beveridge is a practicing internal medicine physician and received her MD/MBA from Harvard Medical School and Harvard Business School.
  • Lindy Blevins, Chief People Officer: Blevins will manage all aspects of the company’s employee journey. From applicant to alumni, Blevins will ensure Upperline Health employees are supported while fulfilling their individual responsibilities. This includes supporting Talent Acquisition, Learnings and Development, Employee Relations, Inclusion, Total Rewards and Payroll. Prior to Upperline Health, Blevins was Senior Vice President of Talent and People Operations at Bed Bath and Beyond, and worked in Strategic Operations and Human Resources at Nordstrom for more than a decade. Blevins holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a B.A. from the University of Virginia, where she graduated with honors.
