Born and raised in Belgium, Borgers began his career in the field of silicon chemistry at Dow Corning where he played a pivotal role in establishing the company’s solar business strategy and overseeing the launch of its first string of innovative solar products. He would later move to Japan to focus on the development of materials for lithium-ion batteries. Borgers' expertise and commitment to sustainable energy solutions and clean technology led to his appointment as Executive Vice-President of Soitec's Solar Division and President of Soitec US, driving the development of concentrated photovoltaic systems. Most recently, Borgers served as Chief Commercial Officer for silicon-based anode material manufacturer Nexeon.
