MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Spearmint Energy (“Spearmint” or the “Company”), a next-generation renewable energy company enabling the clean energy revolution through battery energy storage, today announced that Tara Young, former Deputy General Counsel at Plus Power, has joined the Company as General Counsel, effective immediately. Ms. Young will serve as Spearmint’s lead internal attorney, supporting corporate matters as well as the Company’s continued development of fast-expanding battery storage projects across the United States.
Ms. Young brings twenty years of regulatory affairs, compliance, and corporate governance experience to Spearmint. As lead internal attorney for Plus Power's utility-scale energy storage business, she reviewed and negotiated complex commercial contracts across the full life cycle of renewable development projects, supported enterprise-wide compliance, and oversaw a team of in-house attorneys, paraprofessional staff, and outside counsel.

Before Plus Power, Ms. Young was a senior corporate attorney for Berkshire Hathaway Energy, where she supported complex corporate matters including M&A, financings, commercial contracts, compliance, data privacy and cybersecurity, and regulatory affairs. Earlier in her career, she held roles at Ahern Rentals, Inc., Diamond Resorts International, and KKBRF. Ms. Young is a member of the Children’s Advocacy Project, where she provides pro bono representation to children in foster care. She received a B.A. from Tufts University and a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law, where she contributed to the Pacific Rim Law and Policy Journal.
