CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amy Christensen, Partner and Co-Head of Healthcare at The Vistria Group, has been appointed Chairperson of the Healthcare Private Equity Association (HCPEA), a nonprofit trade association focused on convening and supporting the healthcare investment community. Christensen previously served as Vice Chairperson and succeeded Alex Albert, Founding Partner, Patient Square Capital, effective July 1, 2023. As prior Chairperson, Albert now leads HCPEA’s strategic plan initiative, carving the path for future investment leaders looking to make positive change in healthcare.
Founded in 2010, HCPEA supports the healthcare private equity community that is dedicated to increasing access and improving outcomes through investments. With 1,200+ industry professionals representing more than 100 firms, HCPEA is the only private equity association in the U.S. solely dedicated to the unique needs of healthcare-focused investment firms. The association provides its members with a curated experience through educational programming, meaningful connection with industry peers, and professional development for every level of investor.
“More than ever, the healthcare industry needs innovators focused on making healthcare better now,” Christensen said. “HCPEA is fortunate to be able to support a growing and diversified member base that touches every end of the healthcare ecosystem – from improving clinical and patient outcomes to advancing clinical research – all with the aim of improving access and quality while mitigating costs. We’re excited to build upon our rapid growth in recent years and continuing to expand into new areas.”
Christensen is joined by fellow impact investor Geoff Lieberthal, Partner at Two Sigma Impact, a mission-driven private equity business, as HCPEA Vice Chairperson. Together, they will advance the member experience, expand its reach to other influential investors and elevate the positive impact on healthcare driven by member firms.
“We take pride in providing top-tier education and resources for all our members, regardless of their investment size or growth stage,” said Lieberthal. “In the dynamic healthcare field, staying relevant is an ongoing and challenging imperative. HCPEA strives to bridge the gap between the broader healthcare landscape and our members, delivering unique and meaningful insights in a way that resonates with every level of tenure, from associates to partners.”
HCPEA enables private equity professionals to advance their knowledge and networks. The association serves as a convener of healthcare investors with the goal of unlocking the power of partnerships to advance healthcare.
