TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ideal Image, North America’s #1 medical aesthetics provider, today announced the appointment of Tara Margarella, D.O., as Chief Medical Officer. An accomplished physician and senior aesthetics and wellness industry professional, Dr. Margarella has significant experience in practice development, global medical and regulatory strategy direction, customer success initiatives, and go-to-market strategies. In her new role, she will lead Ideal Image’s innovation pipeline and medical team, reporting directly to CEO Sharon Leite.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Margarella will lead Ideal Image’s Medical Board, overseeing the company’s Medical Affairs and Medical Operations Education teams. She will also identify and assess innovative treatments and products for Ideal Image to add to its service portfolio to give customers more options as the company continues to transform the aesthetics, beauty and wellness consumer experience.

Before joining Ideal Image, Dr. Margarella served as a senior medical director and medical affairs leader. She directed operational and global medical and regulatory strategies at some of the most well-known aesthetics companies, including directing medical education for the facial portfolio at Allergan, as well as at several disruptive aesthetic biotech startups. Prior to that, she spent a number of years practicing as a cosmetic surgeon. Dr. Margarella holds a medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency in general surgery at NYU Langone Lutheran Medical Center as well as fellowship training in cosmetic surgery at Southern Surgical Arts in Chattanooga, TN. She also holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Chemistry, summa cum laude, from NYU-Polytechnic University.
