SASKATOON, Saskatchewan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WBM Technologies LP (WBM) is pleased to announce the acquisition of leading Manitoba print technology solution provider Carlyle Printers Service and Supplies (Carlyle). The move brings together two of Canada’s strongest managed print support organizations and represents a continued focus and commitment to their now united Manitoba customer community.
Together with Carlyle, WBM will now be home to a team of 95 dedicated professionals in the province of Manitoba alone, while adding a new support service location and a 15,000 square foot facility in Winnipeg. The two companies form what is now Manitoba’s largest and most sophisticated Managed Print Technology Provider. This is a key part of an overall WBM team that grows to 601 people across Western Canada, with a shared focus on being Western Canada’s leading managed IT solutions provider.
“This announcement is the continuation of what we feel is a proven approach in bringing great people and customers together around a shared vision and shared values,” says WBM Vice President Brett Bailey. “This is a significant move in the managed print industry in Canada, and we couldn’t be more excited to be taking another strategic step forward that will allow us to add amazing new organizations to our client community, and to build even more great careers right here in Western Canada.”
As part of the acquisition, Eric Johannson will continue to lead the Carlyle team in Manitoba, and he will now join the WBM Technologies Leadership team. Co-Founder Derek Johannson will continue to work with the Carlyle team, and to foster key customer relationships in a consultative role.
“Over the years, we have seen many local providers in our industry be swallowed up by manufacturers or corporations, and ultimately disappear,” says Derek Johannson, Co-Founder of Carlyle. “This is a fantastic story of two western Canadian success stories who have chosen to do something different – to stay local, to stay independent, and to stay focused on our communities, our people, and our customers.”
The acquisition is effective September 1, 2023. Carlyle will continue to operate under the Carlyle banner, now adding the “Powered by WBM” badge, with no disruption or changes to Carlyle customer services.
Moving forward, customers of Carlyle can expect to see new value from WBM’s sophisticated automation, analytics, and fleet reporting insights, along with access to a full suite of outcome-based technology solutions across the WBM Enterprise Experience Platform.
The news is also significant to the WBM customer community in Manitoba, who will benefit from expanded print support coverage, expertise and capacity across Manitoba.
