Charityvest Announces Community Funds: A First-of-Its Kind Social Donor-Advised Fund to Accelerate Collaborative Giving and Foster More Generosity

Launch partners include Founders Pledge, Giving Gap, Amazon Watch and more

ATLANTA--()--Charityvest, a provider of modern charitable giving accounts, or donor-advised funds (DAFs), today announced its launch of Community Funds, a first-of-its kind collaborative giving tool which enables any community to create a tax-deductible, shared giving pool for any charitable purpose.

Community Funds bring much-needed innovation to philanthropy by unlocking new ways to give with friends, communities, and proximate leaders. With just a few clicks, anyone can establish a tax-deductible giving pool branded for their community, group of friends, organization, audience, or cause.

Charityvest is proud to launch with 19 partners including Founders Pledge, Giving Gap, and Amazon Watch. These communities are leading just a few of the initial funds where individuals can donate into transparent, collective pools alongside other donors. This social way of giving will make philanthropy more engaging, ultimately aiming to drive more money to charities and foster a richer experience for donors.

"We believe technology has the power to catalyze generosity by making giving more purposeful, accessible, and dynamic," stated Stephen Kump, CEO and co-founder of Charityvest. "Giving is fundamentally relational as it is an expression of values. Community Funds technology enables donors to connect more meaningfully over those values, creating a richer giving experience.”

What is a Community Fund?

A Community Fund is a collective giving tool to enable any set of donors to pool charitable capital for greater impact on a custom-branded webpage. Managed by a fund manager, each fund supports public charities through a range of use cases, including:

  • Grantmaking syndicates: Pooling money behind other strategic donors, experts, or proximate leaders to grant to values-aligned charities at specific times.
  • Influencers: Backing a public figure’s cause alongside other members of their audience in a custom-branded public giving fund.
  • Workplaces: Giving alongside co-workers in a corporate fund for shared causes.
  • Social groups, giving together: Inviting friends, club members, and/or event attendees to give together.
  • Memorials & weddings: Honoring loved ones at key milestones, giving alongside others.

"We are excited to partner with Charityvest on the launch of their Community Funds giving tool. This collaboration reflects Giving Gap's unwavering commitment to fostering long-term, sustainable impact in communities by supporting Black-founded nonprofits, a critical niche sector often overlooked for funding,” said Heather Infantry, CEO at Giving Gap. “By joining forces with Charityvest, we are empowering everyday folks to pool their resources and make a difference in areas of greatest need."
