NOVATO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Zenni, the world’s leading online eyewear retailer, today announced its latest technology innovation launch: FL-41 migraine lenses developed to help those with light sensitivity due to migraines, post-concussion relief and other conditions.
Zenni’s migraine lenses can be added to a select number of Zenni frames and are designed to filter out the most visually painful spectrum of light to help mitigate the risks of a migraine and relieve a migraine in progress - blending therapeutic relief and fashionable style. Backed by research, FL-41 lenses may benefit migraine sufferers, helping reduce attack frequency and alleviate symptoms of eye strain and light sensitivity.
“Migraine lenses are a game changer for anyone who suffers from chronic headaches, migraines or other conditions due to light sensitivity, as they filter a majority of blue and green light that can create glare and cause eye pain,” said Zenni Head of Optical Product, Dr. Steven Lee, OD. “Zenni’s newest lens offering will provide many migraine sufferers with an affordable solution that actually works. The migraine lens is our latest in a series of technological innovations that provide the best possible product and price for our customers.”
The rose-colored lenses come in three different fashionable tints (25%, 50% and 80%) and two different lens indexes at 1.57 and 1.61 for varying severities of migraines to help cut out painful light, reduce glare and provide eye relief. Customers can add migraine lenses to a variety of non-prescription, single vision, and progressive glasses within Zenni’s expansive product catalog. Zenni's migraine lenses start at $45.95 and include an anti-scratch coating, advanced water-resistant anti-reflective coating, as well as, 100% UV protection.
The 25% lens tint is designed for indoor use or for individuals who experience mild light sensitivity and/or migraines. They are designed to be worn near fluorescent lights, LEDS, and when looking at digital devices. The 50% lens tint is designed for indoor and outdoor use or for individuals who experience moderate light sensitivity and/or migraines. The 80% lens tint is designed for outdoor use in bright sunlight or for individuals who experience heavy light sensitivity and/or migraines. The 80% lens tint blocks out more of the painful 480-520 nm light compared to the 25% and 50% tints.
“Zenni is pioneering a new era of accessible technology. By streamlining the process, we’re driving costs down and passing those savings directly to you. Innovation and affordability, hand in hand, that’s in Zenni’s DNA,” said Zenni Head of Optical Product, Dr. Steven Lee, OD.
