LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Age of Learning, leading education technology innovator and creator of the widely popular ABCmouse® Early Learning Academy, today announced the appointment of Dr. Daniel A. Domenech, highly respected education leader and former Executive Director of AASA (The School Superintendents Association), as Superintendent-in-Residence. Dr. Domenech will work alongside Age of Learning’s inaugural Superintendent-in-Residence, Dr. Art Cavazos, to continue to raise awareness of the proven effectiveness of the company’s adaptive, personalized mastery learning programs, My Math Academy®, and My Reading Academy™.
Dr. Domenech served as Executive Director of AASA from 2008 to 2023, where he played a pivotal role in advocating for the advancement of education and ensuring that superintendents across the U.S. had access to effective tools and resources to foster academic excellence. During the course of his esteemed 50-year career in public education, Dr. Domenech also spent nearly three decades as superintendent of several school districts including Fairfax County, Va., Public Schools, one of the largest school systems in the U.S.
In acknowledgement of his lifelong contributions to improving the quality of education in the K-12 sector, Dr. Domenech has been recognized by several prominent awards, including the 2023 Distinguished Service to Education Award by the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the 2023 James Bryant Conant Award by the Education Commission of the States.

Dr. Domenech was co-chair of the Learning 2025 Commission, which is working to develop recommendations on transforming education to be more student-centered, equity-focused and forward-reaching. He also served as Board Chair for Communities In Schools of Virginia and was a board member of the National Student Clearinghouse Research, the Center for Naval Analyses, and currently chairs the A.C.T Board.
Dr. Domenech began his teaching career in New York City before becoming program director for the Nassau Board of Cooperative Educational Services. Prior to joining AASA, he held the position of senior vice president for National Urban Markets at McGraw-Hill Education.
