NEW YORK--()--Noom, the leading digital health platform combining personalized psychology with modern medicine, today announced that accomplished technology executive Geoff Cook has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and will join the Noom Board of Directors. As part of a planned leadership transition, Noom’s co-Founder Saeju Jeong, who served as CEO for 16 years, will continue with Noom as Executive Chairman of the Board.

“Noom is a cutting-edge healthcare company with a laudable vision – to intentionally design technology to foster human flourishing and longevity. The team’s passion and hard work has built a powerful brand for human behavior change,” said Geoff Cook, Noom’s incoming CEO. “Having spent the last 18 years driving innovation to promote social connection and well-being, I’m thrilled to bring that spirit of transformative innovation to additional health and wellness dimensions. I believe Noom can build on its strong and compelling foundation to reach everyone everywhere on their wellness journey and deepen the sustained, positive impact we have on the lives of our customers. I’m looking forward to partnering with Noom’s co-founders, Board, and talented team to create the next chapter of Noom’s growth.”

Marking the completion of a comprehensive search process led by the Board, Cook comes to Noom with extensive strategic and executive experience building and leading large scale global teams, cultivating a portfolio of successful brands, and extending excellence in consumer offerings in the enterprise arena. During Cook’s tenure as co-founder and CEO of The Meet Group, he took the company public on the NASDAQ exchange and led it until its sale in September 2020. During his tenure, he presided over eight consecutive years of revenue growth, while also acquiring and successfully integrating four social dating companies and building a significant enterprise creator economy platform. Following the acquisition of The Meet Group, he was named co-CEO of The Meet Group’s parent company, ParshipMeet Group, which owns eharmony. Cook also serves as a Trustee of The Franklin Institute, one of the leading science and technology centers in the United States.

Noom co-Founder and Executive Chairman Saeju Jeong commented, “I’m so pleased to have Geoff Cook join us as CEO. Geoff is a transformative leader who will lead Noom through the next phase of our evolution. With his lengthy track record building and scaling businesses and revenue streams, I know Geoff is ideally positioned to accelerate Noom’s growth and profitability. His strengths in building large communities, growing brands and what they offer, integrating teams, driving a large creator economy business, expanding into enterprise, and innovating in multiple areas give me every confidence that he will find success in bringing Noom to the next level. Serving as CEO has been an amazing gift, and now I look forward to continuing to make an impact on the lives of our customers in my role as Executive Chairman.”

"Geoff brings a wealth of complementary skills that will help us build on the incredible foundation the Noom team has laid to date," added Noom's co-Founder and President, Artem Petakov. "Particularly as we gain more traction in the tremendous opportunity we see with Noom Med, our medically assisted weight loss program, and expand our B2B offerings, Geoff's experience in enterprise, M&A, sales, and partnerships will be invaluable. We are still very early in realizing our full vision of behavior change in healthcare, and I'm looking forward to working closely with Geoff to make it a reality.”

“Geoff is an adept CEO and creative problem solver who has invented and reinvented apps and services in the consumer internet space. And his entrepreneurial spirit in conjunction with his strong leadership skills, clarity of vision, product chops and passion for the space makes him well suited to drive the next chapter of growth for this business. We are excited to support him on this journey,” said Stacy Brown-Philpot, independent Director on Noom’s Board.

In a recent expansion of its offerings, Noom launched its healthcare program, Noom Med, which provides obesity care powered by biology, psychology, and technology to those who medically qualify.
